- The New Fuel Mod. -

Created by: GTATerminal (YouTube.com/GTATerminal)
Created in: C# .NET w/ ScriptHookDotNet
Developed in GTA IV 1.0.7.0 (Probably works on other versions)

Features:
Your car now has fuel! Drive around, run out of fuel and fill it up at the city's gas stations. The gas stations now glow green. When they glow white you're close enough to fuel the car.


Install:
Put the 2 files (gTaTer_FuelMod.net.dll & gTaTer_FuelMod.ini)
in your GTA IV > Scripts folder.

When that is done, config the .ini file after your likings,
then start the game, get into a car and drive around.


Settings:
The script can be modified by changing the values
in the gTaTer_Fuel.ini file.

You can change how the Fuel-Meter looks like, as well as the color of it.
You can also change how fast the car is refueled and how fast fuel is used while driving.


Requires:
A working copy of GTA IV. (GTATerminal's Fuel Mod developed in 1.0.7.0, but works on other versions as well such as (1.0.4.0)).

Really great mod. Waited for such a mod.

The only problem is that my game crashes when the car is out of fuel.

And if possible please build something that saves how many fuel is in the car.

And the last thing is, please add all gas stations form Liberty City to your mod.

It doesn't crash for me, though. What is your game version?

Also, is there more gas stations in Liberty City? I thought I had added them all. :P

Nice mod. Could you add Price for fuel? Make it a flat price like maybe $100 whether you have 10% fuel or 90% fuel remaining. I like how the fuel remain consistence no matter which vehicle you drive.

And maybe Price to Fix and Clean Car. Make it a separate command.

@yoshiko There is a price you have to pay for the fuel. Sadly, something is causing it to glitch.

Save and load the amount of fuel so i can maintain that when i restart game.

@Gingersockman Yes. for example, pedro2555's fuel mod has a better feature than this. but the problem is that mod is does not work at all in .net scripthook which being used normally.

Awesome mod to start with, i was thinking i don't know how to do it but if someone could help me i'm sure we can make it, so when you run out of fuel make an animation to push the car to the service station like if your really close.

It might take a while but i'd like to see each vehicle, or type of vehicle have it's own fuel consumption rate. Sports cars/ trucks running out quicker than economic electric or people carries etc.

and +1 to have to pay if you can fix whatever is glitching.

Great mod otherwise.

Hy man just noticed your script. I've developed UltimateFuelScript (check it out if haven't already). I managed to keep track of the fuel level of all cars by using the metadata object in the scripthook (and @Airbus it fully works with scripthook 1.7.1.7, multiple people tested this for me, if it doesn't for any of you re-check the readme. The source code is available, any C# developer can back me up) Anyway, feel free to check my code at https://code.google.com/p/ultimate-fuel-script/ and use my code as you wish to improve your mod. Also if you want to instead become a developer for UltimateFuelScript, I'm accepting commit requests to the project since I'm not in development.

I appreciate that you would let me see the source code, but I do not like working in groups so I do not know if I would fit in. But I do know how I could store it, I just didn't know it when I created this mod.

Take a look at lines ~370+, where the fuel drain is calculated. I took in consideration engine RPM and engine damage to achieve a very acurate fuel comsumption. One thing missing is air friction calculation for higher speeds this is much more realistic, but I never found the time to think about that. I notice you just subtract .005 or something every 100ms right? Maybe you want to go another way, feel free to copy and/or alter my own. Just make sure to read and understand the short license included (it is wide and there only for professional reasons) - goo.gl/UCmTu.

Also if you want to try to understand that mess, the code used for helis and boats is quite smart, and thats why my mod requires SlimDX, fuel drain is based on controller key press factor.

I understand that you don't like to work in groups and I respect that for sure. But maybe that is because you have little experience in group work, or you may think people code differently. And it is true, people are different in coding. But that turns out to not be a problem most of the times, under contrary actually. And imagine that your own personal project suddently, from time to time, bugs get fixed, features get added, head cracking code is gone and working ok and you have done nothing, and can just keep working on what you like. Essentially only the really chanlenging problems stay for longer and even those are easier to solve with multiple heads thinking. Please not that working in a group that I manage, you have simple role, coding. There is no restrictions in what you should or should not code, you decide what you want to do. And if you don't want to do nothing, you do nothing that is your decision. Anyway the position is still open for you, feel free to contact me with any doubts you may have.

@1234567890 Well there are also a many people which says can't run at all.

pedros fuel scripts runs very well in the hazard x's scripthook but not also aru's. many people also using an aru's .net scripthook because of the LCPDFR mod. and i dont know you might know this but LCPDFR does not runs well in hazard x's.

Why does the fuel level change when i exit and re-enter a vehicle? Very unrealistic. I would also like if there was a way to change the gas price per gallon in the config

I love this mod! This script is the reason I made my Gas Station Mod. I'm looking forward to v.2!

Like other people, I hope the amount of gas is saved when moving from car to car, and perhaps hitting "L" when (and only when) the gas tank is empty will it refuel away from a station (for ALOT of money!).

why when i play the game, nothing happened. there is no fuel level beside the map. is there any button to activate the mod?

I noticed a weird mechanic in the game. Whenever i exit my vehicle and re-enter i notice my fuel would change. I know you want it to be random so if you exit one car and enter another it would have different fuel. So if you are going to do that you shuold make variables (like 3 or 4) that go to the last (3 or 4) cars that you enter that way it will only be random if you enter another vehicle, and it will still be the same on the other car... In other words you have 1 car thats yours and 1 car thats a ped's, your car has 54% fuel and you dont wanna exit your vehicle and come back to 72% fuel so add a variable to remember that specific vehicle's fuel so you can enter the ped's with 22% fuel in it, and come back to your car with 53% (not 54% because gas would have drained)
