NOTE: I have retired from further developing and supporting this mod for the public.
NOTE FOR PEOPLE WITH PROBLEMS: Most likely there went something wrong with the installation. Please read the guide carefully.
Have fun and good bye. :-)

V2.1.2
Inproved stability when the script engine is about to fail.

Emergency recover 2.1.0 is available.
CHANGES: Modified the path to the configuration file. It's not Documents/GTA IV/ModSettings/EmergencyRecover anymore but Documents/GTA IV/ModSettings now. This has changed for all of my mods. So now you have all config files in a single folder now (ModSettings). Please read the guide for further installation instructions.

V2.0.2 is available

BUG FIXES
- a rare bug where the code tried to access a ped which was disposed by the game in the short amount of time (microseconds!) between the request and the access.

------------------------------

I decided to post the latest updates here because I think not many people bother to scroll the comments all the way down.

------------------------------

Stuck peds and vehicles are a well known bug of GTA IV.
This mod provides functionality for unfreezing or deleting stuck peds and vehicles with
adjustable aggressiveness.
USE IN CASE OF EMERGENCY ONLY.

If you find any bugs that are related to this mod please file an issue ticket over at

https://bitbucket.org/rainerhilmer/emergencyrecover/issues?status=new&status=open

I will not react to bug reports which are posted in this comment section.

The reason is that those reports probably get drowned between all the other posts. Also my own update notifications will probably not be recognized by others.

If you file an issue ticket I will automatically get notified by email.

Thanks for your understanding. :)

Not sure what the point is, I've never had a problem such as freezing peds or vehicles :P

I won't download since I don't really need it and therefore I don't rate either, but thanks for making this anyway, some people might find this useful :)

Can you post a video? As don't get this...

^not sure if thats relevant. Its described plain and slimpy in the desc. Plus it says for frozen/stuck peds and cars. So a vid is not necessary.

Other note. Cool mod, wish it would stop games from crashing. Oh wait, the answer to that is not to mod in the first place =P

For those that don't understand... it's for when you get the error where spawned cars cannot be entered, and spawned peds simply float where you spawn them and react to nothing.

Wow Mark, you remind me of something I didn't think of: locked cars. I will implement that today. Thank you :)

Also I will change the code so the current player vehicle is not affected when he sits in it.

V2.0.0 is available for download.

CHANGES

- You can now set whether your own vehicle should also be affected or not.

- You can unlock the doors of all vehicles inside the 5 meters perimeter.

- Updated the guide to reflect the changes.

IMPORTANT NOTE: The structure of the EmergencyRecoverConfig.xml has been expanded so you MUST update it with the new version in the rar file or the mod will crash! See the installation instructions in the guide.
