Fixed Colors

Short version: Default weather, colors etc. with removed filter and fixed saturation.

Long version: This does two things, and two things only. Everything else if default (if you're into that kind of stuff).

One, it gets rid of the "piss filter." Most games have one and it sucks. It's called "Color Correction" but adds an ugly colored filter over the game. It's like looking at the world through crap-colored tinted glasses.

Two, I fixed the saturation. By default, some weathers (especially foggy weather) had the saturation turned down very low. The lower the saturation, the less color, and the more it looked like some type of Noir movie. I got rid of that junk.

That's pretty much it. You liked how TBoGT made the game more colorful? It's like that, except without the emphasis on pinks and purples. Like how colorful GTA V is? Okay than. This is how the game is supposed to look, before Rockstar put a dirty filter over the game, and turned down the saturation. Replaces: timecyc.dat, timecyclemodifiers.dat, timecyclemodifiers2.dat, timecyclemodifiers3.dat, and timecyclemodifiers4.dat

R* put a "dirty filter" to fit the game's atmosphere :/ still, I'm sure a lot of people find it difficult to look at now after seeing GTA V :)

Now my IV is more vivid. I love it. 10/10.

I think it's because New york has skyscrapers and sun doesn't really get to the street (like decent straight light), it reflects on buildings and the light that reflects make everything look kind of grey-ish. so I don't think this suits people who are really into realism and stuff.

@JoeK

Pretty much. I messed around with the Color Correction in CleanIV which I regret, and with this one I carefully edited the timecycle modifiers instead of touching the Color Correction and saturation on each one.

@GTA4police

If it looks good with default IV, than yes. All this does is get rid of the gross filter and fix the saturation. Only timecyc files are edited.

@justkidding_201

Nope. This just changes two things in the timecyc files for all times of day and weathers. Nothing that would affect your performance.

@leveldock6

@chasez

Yes, I understand it's for the atmosphere. The way I look at it is that it changed with TLAD and TBoGT, obviously for the themes of those games. But then you have ENB mods out there, and the d3d9.dll disables Color Correction and Desaturation effects in the timecyc.

This is really for people who like IV's default look and graphics, but want those fixed colors.

I understand. I'm for realism tho, and * no I will never use an ENB. Hate those overbright settings and ridiculous reflections. doesn't look like NYC.

@chasez lol? "overbright settings" then lower the brightness / directbrightness

"ridiculous reflections" then lower the reflection values. :/

Are you overwriting the timecyc.dat and timecyclemodifier files with the ones in this mod?
