Looks great, but there are three major issues.

1: Black bars on the top and bottom of the screen.

2: Game blurs occasionally, with and without moving.

3: Near the statue of happiness there are floating textures.

Point 1 and 2 can be fixed with a tutorial, because i don't have any idea how. Point however, with the floating textures, i don't know what causes this.

Thanks, it worked. However, i think the DOF is too much/not needed. And unfortunately i found another issue, a minor one though. Some textures, in this case the goggles have that weird pattern. And the thing at the corners is the dirt lens i guess?

Which one DoF setting you are using Option 1 or Option 2?

To reduce DOF, change this:

DOFAmount = 0.20;

Try use original R* shaders. That was my problem with ice/enbs it would crash with supplied shaders, but originals would work.

I had no trubble to get it working.

I love the effects on the car. How the paint shines and the plastic on the carlamps shine really nice too.

With just the files from folder "Main Files" I give it 5/10.

Too much blur. Just insane...

With the file from folder "DOF" installed I give it a much better rating. I need more hours to play Before I decide. But maybe I give it a try. I will type more after Ive played more and installed a trainer etc.

This ENB is really beutiful...BUT i have 15 - 20 FPS. My computer specs is

Intel Core i5

Nvidia GTX660 2gb

RAM 32gb

Soooooo...With other Enb's, I have 40 - 60.Is it my computer or the bad optimization? Please help!

what file do you want me to edit? I searched in a few, but could not find the lines to edit.

Just to save time if you did not understand my bad English. I understand it's hard to understand what I really mean. So here is a pic. On this car you can see the that the reflaction is so many pixels. Very anying I Think. Most of the time its hard to see, but sometimes its very easy to see the pixels. Would be great if the contour of the graphic reflexion would be better. :)

I play in 1920* and Everything is on MAX graphic. Got some texture mods installed too.

[CARWINDOWGLASS] is a section which is in "enbseries.ini" file. And is responsible by the reflection in the glass window of the cars.

Another question, how can i reduce the noise, because i think that's the thing which shows these weird dots on glasses etc. And is there a way to remove the dark corners? And how can i edit the DOF settings so that the clouds are not blurry, to be more precise, reducing the DOF almost to zero.

Thanks for your effort, but the game does not start now. It just blink when i hit the LaunchGTAIV.exe. But im open for more help if you know whats wrong with your files! :) This ENB is very nice and I decided I like to use it from now on.

Cant get it to work. Cant you just have a Clean install and try it? Will save alot of time since its hard for you to change things everytime i tell what is wrong. I work everyday so can only type once a day. Sorry for this!

In my case I would first install the ENB in a clean game, and then put other mods in game.

In your case I suggest you delete the following files to get it to work again:

I have a backup so no problems to play with this enb. Installed it in a fresh install too. I have no problems with it, but just that the replections could look better sometimes. :)

So if I like to install your update. Now I see you have done some Changes etc. Is there a new file I can download just to give your latest update one more chance?

Dude, there's nothing strange, this "weird hexagon thing" actually is my texture for DIRTY LENS effect.

Go to out with Claude and look at the sun, then you see that this effect is not so bad. :D

Hi Frozenflake! The cars looks awsome and the road to when it rains! =)

I also got the hexagon. It feels like Crysis 3, hehe. :) Also the screen is milky when its sunshine and thats not good at all. Guess ShenLong having the same problem.

Frozen, your ENB update to this ENB will make THE ONE ENB if you get it working. I love this, just want the graphic like it was Before and not milky! =)

thank you very much for your reply, I have one last question to bother you with, I have noticed also that the textures of billboards, graffiti, and some facades of buildings flicker in the distance whenever I look around ( about 200 feet out and beyond ) how can I fix that? both view and detail are at 100 and the anisotropic is at 16 in the enbseries. should I force it to 32 or 64?

also some shadows of trees do tat, its only when I look around, not when I stand still, they flicker... VERY DISTRACTING, DRIVING ME CRAZY...

I don't feel bothered, I taste help the people with ENB related issues. =)

Reduce the Detail to 90 and shadow quality.

Try this, maybe help to fix flickering textures.

Just add this in your commandline.txt:


-availablevidmem 4.0

The only problems at the beginning were the weird patterns on curtains and other things, the DOF blur and the black bars. Now it's actually worse unfortunately. :/

You are making a mistake by using '-norestrictions' and '-nomemrestrict'


-novblank - disable wait for vblank (can get 5+ fps, if disabled)

-norestrictions - do not limit graphics setting

-nomemrestrict - disable the memory restrictions

-availablevidmem - percentage of available video memory

-percentvidmem - percentage of video memory to make available

-forcer2vb - force the ATI R2VB technique, this improve the game physics like NVIDIA PhysX

Understand more about commandline parameters here:



Don't use -nomemrestrict, but can use -percentvidmem & -availablevidmem together.

Try guy:


-availablevidmem 3.0

-percentvidmem 100

Fix V2:


ShenLong, if you don't like dirty lens effect, just delete "enbpalette.bmp", and then the "hexagon blue thing"is going to disappear.

MRZ999,I'm glad you liked my Crysis 3 dirty lens texture, I have more textures (my favorite is 3D CryFibril). =)

Usually GTA IV texture problem as "flickering" or "floating" are related to the use excessive of mods that resulting in high usage of RAM.

What are others mods do you use?

How is in-game graphics settings?

What else are you using the commandline?

Your game runs at how many fps?

What are your PC specs?

Your GPU drivers are updated?

Nvidia SLI feature is disabled?

I will not just give up to help you guys. This all time the error was in my front and I did not realize. Finally I got to find out where it comes from the "foggy", "milky", "milky fog" problem that comes from "enbeffect.fx" on "float EBrightnessV1;".

I made a mistake at reduce the default value (2.2) from EBrightnessV1 which is actually Gamma Correction and not a standard Brightness Correction and the result is the foggy bright screen.

I have tried al the commands but it seems that the original setup I had is giving me the best performance, I have one last question for you I was trying out an ENB called " Advanced Graphics V1 " and it feels preety good but for some reason there no shadows anymore. I am not sure if it is because of my PC or his set up but in any case its absolutely unrealistic, where can I go to make sure that the shadows are turned on?

Advanced Graphics V1 is a good ENB mod, have more nice colors that CryENB =)

I have one for you, my favorite ENB is ENB5k by vucko but unfortunately there is this weird whitish filter that I never was able to take off, if you look at his images you will see what I mean, everything looks like there is a weird grainy whitish filter over the camera " I HATE THAT " what is that? how do I turn that off?

1 - Open "icebloom.fx" and change this value:

float BloomRadius3 = 50;

float BloomRadius4 = 80;

float MixFactor = 1.0;

To such:

2 - Open "iceshader.fx" and change this value:

however something strange is happening now the clouds and weather colors have changed, the clouds are completely different looking now. is there no way to have the same color of sky and the same looking clouds without this bothersome white filter?

is it possible to grab clouds from another ENB and just put them in this ENB? is that possible?

I am noticing something strange, the sky in your ENB and some others that I have tried is INTENSLY bright.. the sky is so bright I cannot even see the clouds, as if the bloom is completely overwhelming.

not sure how to fix this, the worst is in sunny and sunny-windy weather, its INTENSELY BRIGHT...

If you want to test only SMAA option without the Sharpen shader,

just put all files from anti-aliasing folder, less the file Sharpen.h.

The sky INTENSLY bright is not a great problem.

Open enbseries.ini and change this values:

What ENB mod are you using is the ENB Vucko 5K, NT-ENB v2, Advanced Graphics V1 or my ENB (requires NT-ENB v2 installed)?

ok ok yours is definitely part of the good ones, no questions..,

I tested it out a bit but I see a similar problem that my rig is having with your ENB and some others " performance issue ". I am never quite sure why but some ENB do not marry well with my rig.

the best performance I ever had was with an ENB called LIBERTY ENB, it plays 60fps constantly, could never figure out why. I had a major problem with this ENB though for some insane reason the author decided that the drizzle and rain effect would get way to bright so at nights you will have a good atmospheric brightness but then if it starts to rain then the brightness goes ridiculously high and it looks almost as if it is daytime, I don't know what went through his mind when he did this, but it ruined it for me.

is there a way to adjust the brightness of the rain and drizzle ONLY?

You used SMAA? You have fixed the sky bright?


You can control Saturation & Contrast from my Fix Patch/ENB in "effect.txt":

float CurveAmount=0.35; - Contrast control

float VibranceAmount=0.15; - Saturation control


Ok, you tested and see a "performance issue", I can solve this, improve performance, but have a nice look?

yes I tried SMAA and it helps with the performance strangely since it suppose to be the contrary because it demands more from the PC.

no what you suggested did not fix the overbright sky, I had to reintroduce a different set of shaders and that eliminated the problem ( Common/Shaders )

hmm I looked in the timecyc and it looks like an incredibly difficult algorithm, I tried copy and pasting from lightning's commands but it did not change the rain and drizzle brightness... :-(

About SMAA, I did not expect this because I activated the SMAA Predication feature that says "allows to better preserve details and texture to improve performance". Not understand why it demands more from your PC.

I suggested this to fix the overwhelming bloom and not overbirght sky. The fix to this really is uses a different set of shaders, but also are the shaders that cause the white/red sky bugs.

Yes, is a incredibly difficult algorithm for those who still do not understand. To facilitate, use the TimecycIV or IVNeedle tools and look for a timecyc editing tutorial.

the overbright sky seems to come from yours and the ones like yours, I don't know why but replacing them with a set of shaders that are darker eliminates the problem. I am sure you know why, but me no idea... heheheh...

and the over bright drizzle and rain comes from an ENB called LIBERTY ENB, its the best performance I ever had and the graphic configuration is very pretty with the god rays and good all around weather schemes but the drizzle and rain at night are just inexplicably bright, what the * was he thinking!!??

let me know what you think Frozen when you test it out its very pretty, there is a lot of potential there... you and I seem to have similar taste you should like this ENB ;-)

I tried to take the 5 timecyc files in PC/DATA from many different ENBs but nothing changes. this LIBERTY ENB is good but I cannot figure out what to do to fix the fact that rain and drizzle and lightning is just way too bright.

yes I took your clouds and put them in LIBERTY ENB, I prefer your clouds then the others I have seen.

let me know if you figure out what to do about this LIBERTY ENB problem, and let me know if I can do something for you as well.

Hey man, I remember, the problem is caused by the DAX1 FIX PATCH that give for us Godrays/SSAO in EFLC/ ENB.

DAX1 has not yet found a solution to this problem caused by your fix.

Delete Dax.dll, but I think you will have no more Godrays & SSAO.

Show me screen from your game with my clouds =)

I'm downloading and will install later the GTA IV [] on the PC of my friend =)

I have a stupid question to ask you or anyone who knows the answer to this, is adding music to my user folder ( Independence FM ) affecting the performance of the game? basically if I add many songs will it affect the performance?

sorry but I always had a doubt, it seems as though when you add a lot of songs the game is never quite the same, or am I paranoid?

I have a question, what command is responsible for making my weapons look light grey? most of my weapons are black but when I put these types of ENBs they become a really light shade of grey, do you know where I can adjust that? is it a contrast problem?
