Tough Peds

This mod edits the default pedpersonality.dat file, setting every pedestrian's "Defense" stat to 40% of it's original value. This results in the ped being able to take almost as much damage as the player.

Ex.: Niko can take twelve shots from a pistol, a ped can take around twelve shots from a pistol as well.

Originally I had every ped's "Defense" stat set to 0.4. I decided this was rather silly making every ped as tough as the other, and the default stats are nothing like that. So I found 40% much more suitable.

This has been tested in IV and EFLC. Remember to backup your default pedpersonality.dat files. Also keep in mind that for EFLC you must replace three different files, since two are for the new peds added in The Lost and Damned and The Ballad of Gay Tony. Installation steps are in the Readme.txt file.

I recommend using jclewis' Realistic Ballistic Damage mod with this.

If you find any problems with this please let me know.

pedpersonality.dat files were edited with Notepad++. Replaces: pedpersonality.dat

Cool to see these types of mods. Not my thing but would be good in some cases.

A quick question, would it be possible too, to make it so peds hit the ground on 1 gunshot, dependant on gunshot. Rifle = Dead @ any distance. AK47 = Dead @ Distance. Pistol = Wounded etc.

Same with Niko. I'd like to see Niko die on two bullets. Is that possible. It's like, ultra-realism. :)

I'm not sure what you mean. Do you want peds to be weaker than they are by default? Instead of the normal 4 shots by a pistol, it takes one shot?

Also, I actually have a script that uses a small work-around to make Niko's max health equal to a pedestrian. His health also slowly regenerates overtime, but that can be easily removed. I might as well release it.
