Fixed a crash that possibly occurred when the player tried to activate the siren in a vehicle which had none. However, I was not able to reproduce this issue. So I say "hopefully fixed".

Fixed a NonExisitngObjectException that crashed the mod when the driver was prematurely deleted by the game before he could be made invincible.

Just a small update. When flying in a helicopter you won't get "Attempting to fly with insane speed now" but instead "Attempting to fly with maximum speed now".

- Polished the driver behavior at leaving a helicopter after landing.

Fixed a bug with static target navigation. In case you have installed V3.0.0 already you MUST overwrite the AutodriveConfig.xml with the new version provided with this download!

• You can now chase moving targets.
• Removed autonomous helicopter landing after you reached the target. Instead the helicopter will stop and hover over the target position. You can manually initiate the landing by pressing the TriggerLanding key (see keyboard quick reference in the guide) or you can abort the task by pressing the ToggleDriver key again. This enables you to change the target position to a place that fits better as a landing place for a helicopter (if necessary).
• The mod verifies the compatibility of the configuration file by comparing the version
number. In case of a mismatch you will get a warning message and the mod gets deactivated!
• The mod will not crash anymore if the configuration file cannot be found (i.e. through an installation error). Instead you will get a warning message and the mod gets deactivated!

Short description: Autodrive provides you with your personal driver with 5 speed modes. It can be configured for
different driving behavior and it can even ride boats and helicopters for you!

Please read the Guide (part of the rar file) for installation instructions and further information (like keyboard quick reference).

Whoops I just found a nasty mistake in the Guide.

In the Troubleshooting section you read

"If the problem persists set the AlwaysDriveYourself option in the config to false." but it must be set to true of course!

Sorry for this. I have already updated the download.

do you think you could add an xml option to choose the model for the driver or would that not work?

I will do it. That's no big deal. Maybe I upload a new release today but I'm not quite sure how much time I'm going to have today.

real quick question... if you are using the back to gtaiv mod (back to the future mod) and your in the vehicle and use this mod if the car still hits 88 mph will it still work?

Just to make it more clear: I am doing my best to make my mods stable with the unmodified game but I can NOT be held responsible for compatibility issues with any of the thousands of other mods for GTA IV. In order to do so I would have to install each and every mod there is and test my mods against them. That's straight out impossible and not my responsibility anyway.

I hope you guys understand this.

@brado380: Please go to your GTA IV installation (i.e. C:/Programs/Rockstar Games/EFLC) and find the file ScriptHookDotNet.log.

Open it with any editor (i.e. notepad) and find the stack trace regarding this crash. Copy and paste this stack trace as a new comment here and I will look into it.

A stack trace looks like this:

BTW this stack trace shows that the configuration file could not be found. This happens usually due to an installation error. If you see the same then please read the installation instructions carefully and do exactly as described.

Hi obeng,

have you installed V3.0 or later of the Autodrive mod?

If so you should get a warning message in the game because this is a typical issue caused by an installation error. Please read the installation instructions in the guide carefully.
