===========
Description
===========

Add boost points anywhere you want in GTA IV! This is a Multiplayer Add-on and works for any player, minus players with control checks.

All boost points are marked by a blue flashing glow. There are two types of boosts. The normal forward boost, and an upward spiral.

Designed as ramp add-on. Place anywhere on ramp where an additional boost will be required to finish the ramp.

For player's who still are unable to get mods working, there is an auto-car god mode for those intense super ramps where it would be required. As soon as you pass through, your car is repairs and god moded.

========
Hotkeys
========

ALT + I : Drop a boost point
ALT + O : Delete all boost points
ALT + M : Auto God player vehicles
ALT + K : Set type of boost
ALT + J : Bonus. Set your head on fire!! LOL

============
Installation
============

Simply drop the ASI in your main GTA IV directory. If you are using a version of Windows with UAC protection, you must COPY AND PASTE the file or the game may not be able to access the file. If the file you place in your GTA IV directory has a padlock icon attached to it, then it more than likely will not be read by GTA.

Also, if using in conjunction with Simple Native Trainer 6.5, use the Right alt key as the left alt key is used to spawn vehicles in simple native.

This sounds like a rather interesting mod. Unfortunately, you have not provided any screen shots or videos. This is essential; you will find most people will not download the mod without it.

Those 17 downloads would probably be 1700 if you made just 1 video before posting this up, :P.

A few suggestions:

Draw_light is not visible in MP, if thats what you are using, you'll have to use some objects with light (like SNT neons).

The boost speed should be variable, so the player can change how much of a boost the cars get.

Nice mod, havent tested, but kinda not big enough of a feature to be on itself. Cheers.

Yes, it is draw light. I was originally using a CJ_ARROW object to mark the spot, but upon removing the boost spots, I was unable to come up with a solution to guarantee object removal. Sometimes they would remove, sometimes they wouldn't. Tried setting the object's migration to false, looping with a counter and almost every other thing I could think of. One of three things would happen,

1. Game would freeze, unacceptable,

2. Some objects, sometimes all, would remove.. unacceptable,

3. None of the objects would remove.. still unacceptable.

I figured the draw light would be a good user-of-mod indicator until I can figure out the object deletion issue I am having and roll out an update.

I see. I think i solved this issue by using requestcontrolofnetworkid, looping it a bit (not too much) in a loop while its false, then setting the object coordinates far off, then deleting.

It might not always sync for all MP players, not sure.

This is very interesting. Does it have EFLC support? I tried pressing all of the hotkeys but nothing is happening in either single or multi player. I even tried disabling the trainer to no avail.

I've checked asilog.txt and it states that the script is loaded.

Same thing occurs in 1.0.4.0 (single player).

This was developed in 1.0.7.0 and never tested with anything below. It may not work in 1.0.4.0

Yes, I have a function that does the requestcontrol bit in a while loop with an attempt counter to dodge out after so many tries (avoid the possible infinite loop) but I have not tried the setting the coordinates far off map prior to deleting. If anything, at least it wouldn't be annoying.
