Skorpro presents

Brake Lights Mod (.ASI)

for GTA IV v1.0.4.0 - v1.0.7.0 and EFLC v1.1.2.0

Scripted with C++ ScriptHook 0.4.0 SDK by Aru (Thanx!)


- If you stop your car the brake lights turn on!
- This mod works great with OvertakingFix v1.0.2 by pedro2555 & Indicator lights Script v1 by Lil-rich
- Press CTRL+SHIFT+F6 for one second to deactivate/activate the mod.
- You can change the key (default F6) in "Skorpro Brake Lights.ini"!

Have fun :)


FIXED: It was impossible to use the phone in any car / bike.

This mod doesn't work for me! I press the keys required to activate it, enabled/disabled trainer, etc. but to no avail. Please help!!

Nice detail.

But how about you add something else to this same mod? Being; When you turn on the lights manually, you also turn on the rear lights. However, I don't know if it's possible to activate those separately.

Because I always thought it was strange that you could turn on the headlights, but the tail-lights wouldn't do anything (or change), at least during the day.

Also, I do like the Indicator Light mod you suggested, I have used it before. But it's exactly missing the first thing that it says under "planned in the future" in the description. Since that mod doesn't seem to be updated anymore (it's been since mid last year), would you be able to perhaps add it as a feature to this mod as well?

I mean, this could be a chance to have like a complete package in a single mod that can do all kinds of things with the regular lights on vehicles.

Anyway, this works just fine. Thanks. :)

how about to automatic activate? l mean no need to press any to activate just activate when the game starts automatically?

This mod is ALREADY activated at start!!! You can DISABLE it if you get any problems with animations into car and then ENABLE it again :)

If the mod doesn't work please post your "asilog.txt" & "ScriptHook.log"! NOT HERE BUT AT GTAFORUMS.COM (click "Author Website" in description!)!!!

In fact I have no idea how the "indicator mod" works - but I'm still searching for a method...

- My method to realize the "lights" is another one!

- They (Lil-rich & LMS) used "ScriptHookDotNet" with a self-made "AdvancedHook" and a C# code. I used "ScriptHook" only (C++)...

- R* did not made "natives" to switch the brake and indicator (left/right) lights... EXCEPT the headlights & taillight & hazard lights (to force/switch them you can use SNT ("simple native trainer")) :)

- If I find out how to code the left/right indicator lights, I will make a new version of my mod (including "planned in future" ideas) :)

I've found a really weird bug; When this mod is active, and you initiate a phone-call, once it's ringing it immediately puts away the phone. The same happens when you're called and you pick up, the phone just gets terminated.

Now, barely anyone probably cares about this, but if you want to play through the missions properly or use the phone for anything else, you can't. That might not be a big problem for everyone, but it's absolutely weird that it does this. I don't see how the tail-lights connect to the phone. lol

And there might be one other problem, which is probably connected to this mod; Sometimes the car refuses to drive. I thought my controls or controller didn't work anymore, but all other functions besides the car-functions still worked. I couldn't do anything, I couldn't get out of the car or anything. But only once I would have made a phone-call, the car would suddenly respond again. Again, I'm only like 80% sure it has to do with this mod, but it first of all occured after installing this mod, and also seeing the phone-issue, it points at this mod again.

My friend Skorpro..I have beef with you. When I plan to shoot a game of pool with Roman and go to pick his * up. After he gets in the car I can't move?? Evey other function still works ie, can look around, honk horn, change music, signal but car is frozen. Please FIX!

FIXED: It was impossible to use the phone in any car / bike.

FIXED: It was impossible to move/drive if you have tried to pick up friends.

FIXED: If you have tried to spawn a heli (trainer), game has crashed.

great work!! 9.5/10 since I think Ive just found a minor bug. It seems that everytime the car stops and the light turns on, I cant even move my front wheels to the right or left until I accelerate or press the throttle button following the right/left key arrow to move the wheels.

So, I really hope u can fix this up as it looks a bit weird when we accidentally trapped in a traffic while we are trying to turn the car. Nevertheless, its a superd mod!! Thanks a lot!!

The point that you mention is not really a bug. The car is always frozen during the brake lights are on!

But if you want to use the steering wheel download the version below.


- Open INI and change "LeftKey" and "RightKey" to your left/right keys (default 'a' and 'd').

- When you press one of these keys, brake lights turn off!

- Fix #1 & #2 included!
