Now we can set different weapon sets for choppers and have lock on target feature for rockets.

Features:

Custom weapon number and position
Custom cameras
Up to 4 Cannons
2 Hellfire launchers
8 Rockets with lock on feature (lock on any vehicle)
2 Gunner position on chopper
Spawn menu
Enemy helicopter
Flares to avoid rockets

@NokaS: i will create an tutorial about that im my blog, its not complicated, enter in the helicopter (you can use scripthook console to spawn the model) and in the console window type the command: heliedit, then follow instructions on scrren to navigate and switch positions

@metalwars: i need to fix some issues that persists and add the Bomb feature, basically this is what i need to do, im thinking in set the bomb position to be fixed, what will be customizable is effect size of possible trace/trail

@AgenBlaze: all manual based in .ini config with ingame helper to set postions, i don't know if its possible to get those offsets automatically

Dude this is sweet, you finally finished this mod. Thanks a trillion, now I finally have a reason to fly helicopters again. The only question I have is due to the fact I use Icenhancer with downsampling, the HUD on the AC130 mod does not work very well. Is there a way to get the HUD for this script and the AC130 mod script to work with the extra large resolution?

I think it's possible since most modders like SkylineGTRFreak already made custom muzzleflash position(his OH-58D is the best example) so you can get it from the model itself. Adjusting manually is a pain in the ass,believe me :/

Tip: You can embed resources into managed sources. So you don't have to put all the textures (pngs in "HeliFiles") in a seperate folder, but instead can load them dynamicly from the resources of the dll (Scripthook .Net even comes with a method to do that).

It will be cool if you made a tank mod with working torrents and obviously a working canon with similar options to the BF3 tank mission or if possible a working red dot, acog, thermal scope mod for every gun you choose to use it with.

@fience25: im sorry man, AC-IV have 4800+ lines of code and this Heli Combat have 1800+ lines, so its very complicated mix them ^^, its not impossible but the possibility to bugs increase a lot, will require some weeks to make all work fine, maybe i do this when i finish this mod and some other requests

@Alex54123: i have an tank mod to do, will have custom HUD and cameras, minigun, TOW missile and balistic cannon

One quick thing, is it possible to prevent police from using this? I think its a little overboard to attack somebody with missles when they have only 3 stars.

The general ini file have an config to set if enemy heli will attack with cannons and/or rockets, but i will change some things like the amount of starts to start attacking, the AI aim system needs some improve too, i have a little list ^^

It was easy. I only changed couple of lines in.ini the file. Now I shoot small video about Hammer with rockets and a machine gun: )

@NokaS: inside folder \HeliFiles\Helicopters you put the image file, and in the .ini file you search for the config: img_file= and set it to the name of the image, for example: img_file=AH64.jpg

@Alex54123: you mean an remote controlled one? yes it will have it, cannon, missile launcher, "inside" camera, lock on feature and i will try to make it destroy cars when run over the cars, and we will have cop/enemy tanks too, i believe that will be very destructive ^^

Great Mod Julio ! I'm hoping the next version has configurable keys in the ini though, default keys don't work well for me :( (However, I'm sure you'll be including this at some point anyway)

Also a bit like Alex's idea for the humvee, add an option for turret like cannon in heli, so you don't always shoot dead ahead (thinking the AH-6D Apache, which has this in real life, maybe others do too?) Naturally it isn't 360 degrees of movement, more like 70 degrees each way (Left/Right) from centred position and also downward movement, i.e. can shoot at ground when hovering.

By the way. I still stuck the weapon to the ships. It turned out badly. The ship shakes on waves and hits itself very often: (I can show video.

Today I tested Heli+AIR combat on the LAN network. Everything is bad. Game hangs up. Throws out the client. Continuous problems. It is possible to make that they would work on the LAN network?

Сегодня тестировал Heli+AIR combat по сети LAN. Все плохо. Зависает игра.Выкидывает клиента.Сплошные проблемы. Возможно сделать что бы они работали по сети LAN?

Yes. I tested boats: ) Well and that they swim instead of shoot. Not order. Here also I attached to Military Patrol Boat and Russian Patrol Boat. The same machine gun, rockets, cameras. It turned out not so impressively. Finishing and adjustment is necessary. I am not able to write scripts. I don't know programming language.

Да.Я тестировал лодки:) Ну а что они плавают а не стреляют.Не порядок. Вот и приделал к Military Patrol Boat и Russian Patrol Boat. Все те же пулемет,ракеты,камеры. Получилось не очень впечатляюще.Необходима доработка и подгонка.Я не умею писать скрипты. Я не знаю язык програмирования.

Not to bug you, but were you able to get the HUD working for the 3840x2160 resolution? If you are able to, could you do it for your AC130 mod, its my favorite mod and its hard to use with the aiming reticule in the bottom right hand side of the screen. Thanks for your time.

what pc config you have to play in such small resolution? ^^

my gta not even open with this big numbers lol

i believe taht the problem is the method that im using to get game resolution, so i added an config that will let you choose your game resolution an override the auto detect, it will be in this new version that im uploading now.

after first start of this new version, you will see in the helicombat.ini file those configs:

bForceCustomResolution=0

myWidth=1280

myHeight=720

set first one to 1 and the width and height to fit your game res:

bForceCustomResolution=1

myWidth=3840

myHeight=2160

then reload the game

tell me if it worked, so i acn apply same idea in other scripts and fix AC130

The resolution comes from downsampling which is included in most enb modifications. The fix you have provided works about 95%. The only thing that didn't scale was the lock-on reticule. I did notice that when locked on to a target, sometimes the missiles would blow up underneath the helicopter without leaving. This happened to me and the police. Also, I don't know if this was intentional, but I am unable to shoot any weapon besides the minigun in night vision mode.

Thanks for the great mod, I really enjoy it, and for fixing the mod to work at such a weird resolution. Can't wait to try ac-130 mod again with this fix and your upcoming tank mod. You must be a very busy person!

lol, yeah, i have an list here lol

this frozen rocket happens to me after a lot of reloadscripts when im developing, i reload the game and it is fixed, is a problem with gta, when too much objects are created, some just get frozen

so the HUD its almost ok? maybe if you change a little the values reducing like 10 points in each axis (width/height) you can fix it, can you post an image of the actual HUD?

The HUD is working perfectly, its the little red circles you are using as a reticule that still don't display properly. The actual reticule for other guns is in the middle of the screen. This is probably just GTA's fault though, as it was never meant to be run at a resolution this high, but it looks sooo good. -- no jaggies, is what I'm after!

Thanks for updating the mod, as I'm sure my problem only constitutes for a minority of players. Random question: Does this work in LAN if my friend has the same mod? We want to try dogfighting, but ya know with helicopters like we used to in SR2.

Why now the camera number 4 and 5 don't move in the right and in the left? I can't place them in the right place in the menu of settings. Whether awakes the Height indicator? Separate HUd for a machine gun from the first person (camera 4 and 5)? Whether it is possible to make zoom switching at a ganner. Three-fold or quadruple.

@UnknownXXVII: you mean the 8 red points around locking/locked targets? this should work because its 3d, they are actually checkpoints with modified size :)

About LAN, i'm sorry, i can't test it so i don't know how to fix or what are the possible bugs.

@NokaS: i change the way this cameras will be positioned, you can rotate them with mouse and use numpad 8 and 2 to position it, i did this because i need to make player able to make sure that the camera it's close enough of the desired position

Now Num 4 and Num 6 doesn't work. Therefore in settings doesn't move anything in left and in the right. It on cameras 4 and 5. Worked earlier. I put a line item of a ganner precisely on helicopter center. I had a machine gun on center in a bottom at the helicopter in front. And now it hangs far on the right in air. Why?

I apologize. Me reached. Now means where the mouse there looks and the camera will move in case of setup. Earlier simply I moved clicking Num 4 and 6: )

Yes, the red points do not work at all. Like I said, its GTAs fault as even the yellow arrows that designate enterable buildings are far off from where they should be. I'm sure there is no way around this issue. However, it would still be nice to have the HUD for the ac130 to display properly so at least I know where I'm aiming even though the red dots won't work. There's always a compromise!

As for LAN, I'm guessing this mod will work the same as the AC130 mod, where it won't effect the other player even when both have it. Me and my friend have already used the AC130 together in LAN, and it doesn't affect eachother because we can't see anything, but it does work against peds and their cars.

@NokaS: i limited the movement of the side gunner camera, to avoid player aiming againt his own helicopter, now when you reach limit it will turn the helicopter to help the aim, the same with turret camera (last one)

I play on an LED-LCD HDTV. I'm guessing that you're not fully aware of how downsampling works. What it does, is it runs the game at a higher resolution, in this case 3840x2160, then squishes it back down to the native resolution which is 1920x1080. So basically with this higher resolution, the jaggies go away, but there are some bugs such as with 3D things like the yellow arrows that designate targets and what not. So your mod was reading the resolution correctly, but it was not able to squish it back down, and so in the ini configuration I put the resolution to 1920x1080 which fixed the HUD, but 3D markers won't work, which I believe is the games fault and most likely cannot be fixed. But thanks for helping, it was nice of you to fix the mod for a handful of people with my problem.

I again with the BTR:) it is possible to synchronize a machine gun in the camera 5 with movement of a tower of BTR? Probably in case of machine gun movement or in left not to move BTR to the right? It is possible to attach the camera on a tower of BTR it isn't dependent on the casing? Thanks for attention!

Does this mod work within the Video Editor? I never got Jet Combat to work for some reason, but this mod seems a bit simpler to execute, so I was wondering.

Hey, I tried it out, and the HUD is working again, thanks for fixing this. The only issue I have is that the projectiles don't always hit where the cross-hairs are pointed. It seems to worsen at farther distances, but it is not a big deal.

Also, for the Helicopter Combat mod, I fully tested it on LAN. The problem comes in with the missles/rockets. When fired they get stuck in a 3 foot loop animation until they explode in 3 seconds. Me and my friend were together and both had the script activated. However, when his caught an error and stopped functioning, my mod was working again! Anyway, I just wanted to let you know what happens, not asking for a fix in any manner.

@Vergessene: my last tryed worked ^^, i reinstalled my gta, Air combat still not working, but heli combat was fine last time that i tryed (v1.1)

@UnknownXXVII: good to know, now i will add this feature to all my mods that uses textures/draws on screen

The projectile issue can be result of time between shot and hit, plane is moving and we have an initial delay between click and shoot

I really dont have how to test it on LAN/Internet, im sorry

Before you can answer the compatibility question and config possibility, JulioNIB, I would like to ask you how to configure rocket position and other things for Bell UH-1Y Venom mod. You can get it here:

I dont know if im stupid, or if i did something wrong (or both) but when i try to add a custom heli (even just the ones included in the "more heli" file) it just says "erro creating helicopter..." what am i doing wrong?

I have this mod working however when i pulled out the apache .ini and placed it among the annhi and polmav ingame the choice for apache is there, with a pic of it...i click enter and it says error creating heli.....help?
