Laser And Flashlights For All Weapons by motorsport71
Flashlight "light_1.wdr" and Laser Sight "light_2.wdr" by metalwars

Requires .net ScriptHook version 1.7.1.7
OpenIV to install "light_1.wdr" and "light_2.wdr"
Only Tested on GTA IV v1.0.7.0

This allows the user to give any firearm including the rocket launcher a Laser Sight, a flashlight, or both!

Options also include enabling one / both for one weapon. it / they will go away when you change the weapon.
OR
You can turn on a mode that will have every weapon come on with the Laser Sight / Flashlight (or both) in their proper locations per light change.
The Sniper Rifles have a different location for the laser sight and the flashlight for better appearence.
All lights are also adjusted VERY, VERY close to the targetting reticle from a distance of a few meters (Very time consuming to do :D )

.ini included to change controls to whatever you desire.

Known Issue:
When changing weapons around very fast, from time to time the Laser sight or Flashlight may get wrong placement when the auto enable for all weapons is on. A quick fix is either press the "weapon once" key which will not affect auto enable. Or just change the weapon to the next one and go back. Replaces: adds .net script, light_1.wdr and light_2.wdr

Dimmer light than metalwars' version. Not saying he is bad or anything, but I just prefer a little more subtle lighting. Great job, mate.

Good Idea, good work! 10/10 :)

@JerryKapowitz

I don't know, you'd have to get the older version of scripthook but use the current version of .net scripthook to try it. If you give it a try let me know :)

@Gus Erlangga

Thanks. It's weird, i borrowed the "light_x"'s from his mod lol.

@CORE.MAX2010

Thanks!

Yes, it work in GTA IV path 1.0.4.0 ;)
Posted on July 5, 2012 11:47PM by CORE.MAX2010
does this work for custom weapons?
Posted on July 6, 2012 2:25AM by jordo85
@CORE.MAX2010 , Really? when i put the Light_1.wdr itu Weapon.img,, In game i don't have any weapons.. thats weird... any solution? :)

Very nice mod! Your light beam is exactly placed and realistic! Thanks!!

Awesome work mate :)

@Kalasnikov28

Did you add them to weapon.img or replace everything in weapon.img with them?
Posted on July 6, 2012 12:37PM by motorsport71
well,, i add them..
Posted on July 6, 2012 10:00PM by Kalasnikov28
Amazing work. :)
Posted on July 7, 2012 5:24AM by GhosT-01
@Kalasnikov28

just making sure you added them and NOT replaced the entire contents of weapon.img with the "light_1" and "light_2". If you replaced the entire contents you won't have any weapons at all.

@jordo85

it would probably work with custom weapons, but the placement of the beams may be positioned differently and the sights may be pointed off the reticle as well, if i were to make an "educated" guess :p

wow more better than grim scrpts 10/10
Posted on July 7, 2012 5:35PM by metalwars
well, when i add them.. with OpenIV save, and then try'n to open Weapons.img again but an error appear.. In game.. i don't have any weapons... :(

Posted on July 8, 2012 12:37AM by Kalasnikov28
@Kalasnikov28

It sounds to me like you may have deleted or corrupted your weapons.img information. Did you make a backup first?

@JerryKapowitz

Thanks! I probably should update and implement this to my bodyguard flashlight mod. It would give them more accurate lighting effects and this scripts foundation should hold up better too.
Posted on July 9, 2012 12:27AM by motorsport71
@motorsport, maybe it corrupted,, any solution? :) anyone has try this script on 1.0.4.0? :)
Posted on July 9, 2012 6:20AM by Kalasnikov28
@JerryKapowitz / Kalasnikov28

For the older patches do you still need to use "magic patcher" or "file check fix" or something like that to mod the game? It's been AGES since i've modded a GTA IV game patched that far back. If that's the case could that be a contributing factor?
Posted on July 9, 2012 8:46PM by motorsport71
ehhh...

I could include it; but it's a big file (almost 6 megabytes) and retains ONLY stock weapons and the "light_1" and "light_2" files. I'm putting together my New bodyguards script and i'll think about including it in that one and putting it in this one in the mean time.

@motorsport71, great idea, stock weapon it's ok,,,
Posted on July 10, 2012 4:57AM by Kalasnikov28
is there a way to make this less bright for me? or do I have to change that in the enb settings, great mod btw 10/10
Posted on July 24, 2012 4:05PM by EUgamereviews
@EUgamerreviews

Sorry, the lights are like a "model" perse, and i was allowed to use them from another modders files with permission. If they were adjustable i would've probably added that as an option :)
Posted on July 25, 2012 8:35AM by motorsport71
@motorsport71 hey great mod..just one question. I keep getting a script error when I try to turn off the flashlight and laser. maybe I installed something wrong?
Posted on July 28, 2012 4:33PM by sho69607
@sho69607

sorry for the late reply...

by chance are you 1: running it with another mod that may be interfering with each other? OR 2: have a couple of the keys in the INI set up the same?
Posted on July 30, 2012 11:46PM by motorsport71
@motorsport71

no problem.

The only mods I have that I can think of causing the interference is LCPDFR and/or ELS..Ill check it out
Posted on July 31, 2012 1:53AM by sho69607
The laser sight is not very realistic
Posted on August 18, 2012 6:31AM by batraz
took me a minute to figure it out... but it worksim only using the light because i decreased the brightness in my game so that darker colors were more vibrant and because i did that i got too dark off inside places with little to no light sources... this mod allows me to have a light on my gun to make up for it... :)

for * sake
Posted on September 1, 2013 7:34AM by skannerz22
This one is the best and it works fine. Compatible with patch 1.0.4.0 also. The laser and flashlight are actually accurate compared to Metalwars flashlight/laser mod. Can now turn off hud to disable crosshair :D

Good job, thx (does not work with the TBoGT Automatic/Explosive Shotgun, and unfortunately completely shifted for the uzi).
