Changes in v5.1

Added ability to change world pedestrian density in INI, one for "Zombies and Pedestrians" and
another one for "Everybody's Becoming a Zombie".

Changes in v5.0

Complete Rewrite... Includes:

Pedestrian Events: Can be toggled on/off; allows groups of random civillians to spawn who may ignore / engage player while trying to stay alive themselves. Drivebye's will happen during Pedestrian events.

Display Health and Armor: Brings up a Left Side HUD displaying players health and damage numerically.

Display Infection Percentage: Activates and Brings up an Infection% meter on the left side. If a player is damaged by a zombie the counter will begin going up. Once it reaches 100%, the players health will go down until he reaches death. The player can constantly heal himself back up to pproximately 80% until he finds an
ambulance to get the antivirus, which will heal him and cure the infection. Player Cannot get infected during zombie night mode.

Vehicle Speed and Health: Brings up a Left Side HUD displaying the vehicle a player is occupying's health and speed in MPH.

Enable Fuel System: Each vehicle the player uses will be randomly given an amount of fuel in the tank. The mod will remember that while the player is playing, and the vehicle can runout of gas. All gas stations are out so once the
vehicle runs out it quits and that's that. A "Fuel Status" will be given on the Left side of the screen as a HUD.

World Fires: Toggle on / off random fires that will show up around various world objects.

Helicopter Attacks: Toggle on / off helicopters that will spawn and attack either you or zombies depending on which chopper you get.

Disable Radar: Toggle on / radar , but leaves Weapon HUD alone.

Search For Survivors: Toggle on / off to have random survivors spawn that will look for you to join your group. A maximum of 3 will show up. If one dies, another will look for you as long as you haven't added any additional survivors
by spawning them.

Spawn single survivor: Up to 7 supported. Randomized Weapons and appearances.

Zombie Night: Rewritten, player will only run into few random pedestrians during the day who may be friendly / unfriendly.
Fast Infected die very easily but keep coming quickly, slow infected are hard to kill and take mass damage in one shot.
Infected in zombies at night also attack bodyguards in both fast / slow modes. Player immune to virus so infection meter
won't display any infection if damaged. If going to use this mode I recommend using it first, it may error if you play other part for
while before engaging this portion due to changeup of overall scripting.


Survivor (bodyguard) invincibility
Remove existing survivors(bodyguards)
Randomize Weather
Fast Forward time one hour
Toggle Radio
Toggle Breaking Down Cars


Cellphone being disabled - couldn't get it to comeback on and too many people having "issues" with that

Changing Vehicle Density - Current script has increased vehicle density

Changing Pedestrian Density - Script has a preset value for each Mode now

Spawn N.O.O.S.E. Bodyguard

Toggle Player N.O.O.S.E. Skin appearance

Destruction of Traffic

Now configure the Zombie Apocalypse... your way!

Okay, here it is... Liberty city had been hit with an airborne virus that changed most people into zombies. It was the beginning of the end...

The city is in panic. Vehicles are running lights, crashing, running over pedestrians and zombies alike. Pile ups are frequent as well as vehicle breakdowns, tire blowouts, even car bombs. Traffic laws... huh, no such thing.

As you run down the streets it's not uncommon to see several "Slow" infected "limping"
along with slightly faster "hunched over" ones coming up on them. There are also "Runners."

Now it wouldn't be a true end of the world scenario without other armed civilians.

Survivors, should you choose, can be called in. They'll have your back. And if you don't have a use for them anymore, tell them you don't need them.

Other armed pedestrians are out there, so watch yourself... They may be in a car, on foot, in groups, or even a heli... And the question is who's side Will they be on?

More troubleshooting: .net scripthook (or SCRIPTHOOKDOTNET by another name)
Do you have ScriptHookDotNet and ScriptHook from this file:


Do you have c++ 2000 redistributable installed? Get it here:


Do you have .net framework 4 installed? Get it here:


Then did you make a folder named "scripts" and place all of my .net and .ini files in it?

Now, after the c++ 2000 redist and .net 4 framework are updated, restart your computer. Then place your asi loader, ScriptHookDotNet, Scripthook, and the folder named "scripts" that has the .net and ini files inside all in you main directory.
When you get into the game again if you hit the tilde "~" you should get the green console. You should be good to go. If you don't, go here:

They spawn where there is a native population, so if a map mod doesn't spawn non mission pedestrians then i'd have to venture to say no. I tried to use as many of the games resources as i could to make it as stable and long running as possible.

okay, I have to start of with this.

Motorsport, your work is simply amazing, you are putting so much effort into what you are doing, I really wanna thank you for the awesome zombie apocalypse experience that you gave me and couple of my friends that i told about this mod. Keep up the GREAT work that you are doing, just Thanks, really I love the mod.

Were you running the mod for a while before using the Zombie Nights mode? I couldn't nail down the problem so i made a notation but should have probably made it more noticable, if you you want to play the Zombie Nights you should either restart L4LI or play it first. I put in the README and in the description to the left:

"If going to use this mode I recommend using it first, it may error if you play other part for while before engaging this portion due to changeup of overall scripting."

But nobody reads that LOL!

That can happen sometimes on it's own, though i rarely have run into it and hadn't as of the last dozen test runs. However if you are running any other mods relating to traffic control it might actually affect the Infection%... Or it's EFLC it may not be functioning right either...

this one IS NOT compatible. That's why i made the Outbreak mod in the firstplace, so players could have a zombie mod :p

@Motosport, I was playing the older version of this mod (v4.1) and I saved the game to my MAIN save and now the problem is that my phone won't show up when I press the up button (since you disabled it in the v4.1) How to enable it again? ALSO I can't do ANY missions.

Dude, never save during a mod unless it's meant to be saved. This one is not :l

But as far as your phone goes i'd try this: Get Simple Native trainer and try to "disable" your cellphone using it. Then see if it will wake it back up. I know there are options in SNT to mess with the settings of the phone.

I'm going to have to test that, v1.0.4.0 doesn't respond to relationshipgroups and they are a huge part of the way L4LI works. The mod would work, but the interactions between peds / zombies / player shouldn't be functioning as intended.

I don't know if scripting allows you to do something better then it's already, but is it possible to make more cars on the streets that will be in destroyed, have like bumps and etc. Also if it would be possible to make the cars stop appearing, for example I see far away car is coming and i see a guy inside the car and then he disappears, is really annoying, is there a way you could change it?

Creation of "Model" (i.e. car, boat, pedestrian) isn't difficult. But as far as placing them as bumps and roadblocks; they all have to be mapped out per x,y,and z coordinate... then set to a direction... it is a manual entry that takes a lot of time. I can throw vehicles out there in the road in a low health state, but not blown up.

I extended the "grab distance" in the script for the 5.1 update a little bit for the moving vehicles in far off view as well. I had noticed it myself. An additional 35 meters from the player will be affected by that part of the script. I hope it takes care of that issue.


I don't know why the admin is taking so long for the update approval, but it does give the option to adjust population density separately between "Zombies and Pedestrians" and "Everbody's Becoming A Zombie" in the INI. The game default is 1. You will only be able to go in whole values, so it will be like 0, 1, 2, 3, etc. After 3 the density doesn't really appear to get any thicker. Remember the game can only make so many pedestrians. Also, the mod may start losing track of zombies so you may see them wander off as pedestrians once the population gets higher.

BTW, instead of that, I made a mod for use against the zombies without injuring them. Here's the link.


It should do the job for the police weapons (not for the weapons outside police weapons) rather than fighting to death against them, and giving Niko the time to escape. Wanna try?

BTW, I want to make a request regarding to this mod. Can you make it compatible for EFLC? There are a lot of new weapons in EFLC, which the normal GTA IV doesn't have. It should be more fun if this mod played in TBoGT, with machine gunner gunship helicopter instead of rifleman or sharpshooter gunship helicopter.

My only request is that. Make it compatible for EFLC version and (which I assume worked out with Scripthookdotnet and ASI loader). Can you do it in later version?

I have the normal GTA IV but still in unpatched version (, and when I try to update it, it's impossible for me. It sucks.

If i get a change i will look at it, but i'm not going to make any promises i'll change it up. I'd have to find out what isn't working, why it isn't, and what components in my script need rewritten. THEN i have to make sure they are still compatible with GTA IV. And if you've opened my script up, there are like 3100 lines to scroll up and down through :p

I really need to see a mod that totally eliminates sounds that you hear normally, such as construction, traffic, all these sounds that make the city feel alive, there is already a mod that eliminates the city lights. I need one for the sound as well.

Well, just asking around and see what you can fix later, but let me get this straight to the point: EFLC compatible or not? Judging from the screens, it seems you are playing the GTA IV in patch, isn't it?

I'll see if you can found any bugs that you can fixed up. Oh yeah, I think the score padding trolls are such an *******. Just leave them, will ya? I still have your 9 until you can make it EFLC compatible. See you later.

Oh yeah, just a workaround for people who don't have EFLC, while this mod is running, is there a possibility to spawn Episodic weapons?

In the last version of Left 4 Liberty: Infection mod (v4.1), I saw no explanation about spawning Episodic Weapons in IV, just the comments about bugs and anything that connected to this topic.

Motorsport!! I love this, but during Zombies at Night I get a huuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuge lag increase. Huge difference. I restart the script, hit F7, then immediately F4, activating Z@N, and my framerate drops like *. Which is odd, cus it removes practically everything (peds, cars, everyone and their uncle). Am I the only one with this issue?

I need help with getting this mod to work which is weird. I press F7 and nothing happens, I got everything installed correctly and nothing happens. The walking dead mod works fine but I can't seen to get this one to work.

Hey, love the mod, only issue I have with it is on the "everyone's a zombie" mode, the framerate seems to reduce quite a bit and the abandoned cars have a sort of "glued to the floor" type thing going on. Is there a possible fix for this?

I don't understand what this "NEW" script folder is where you're supposed to put the vb files...there's only 1 script folder as far as I can see, and that's made by the scripthook.

Hey after I try your zombie modS(out break and this). I think "Left 4 Liberty" is the best. But I think, if the zombies in this mod can jump and climb like the zombies in "Out Break", it may be great!

And the base is awesome,too. I wish it can work with"Left 4 Liberty"

I downloaded a version of this mod awhile ago and i really liked it. I have a question though- is there an option to turn off the infection system for the player? I remember finding it a little frustrating getting hit once and being infected, ect. Id rather die by being overrun by a bunch of zombies and being beaten to death. Otherwise, a great mod. When i get a chance i wanna download this new version.

I have installed all of the extensions the readme/instructions told me to, but whenever i try to launch the game it goes all the way to the loading save screen, then the entire game crashes.

I have .net and C++ installed, and have tried removing the memory limit but the game still crashes. If i remove the left 4 liberty scripts from the scripts folder the game works fine again. (This happens with every zombie mod)

Any idea what might be wrong?

Okay so I did everything it said to do in the installation, but it won't load. The script for the fire ammo loads fine but the rest of the mod doesn't what do I need to do?

I followed the installation instructions and opened up the console in game (~). It said that the scripts had been installed correctly but I could not activate them or do anything with f7.

Doesn't work for me, or atleast, not to the full degree. when i start the mod, it says error in script *.*. However, zombies are running around and i can spawn bodyguards, but that's all.

I am running into a problem where it will say "error in script Pedestrian Violence" or Error in script Heli Attack". Also the bodyguards constantly revert back to invincible.

I love this mod, but would completely amazed and eternally grateful if I could have script just for the 1. Find Survivors 2. Single body guard, and most of all 3. RANDOM PED EVENTS D: I had hours of endless fun joining fights between the GUNNUTS and the NOoSE and the jailbirds, waiting to see which ones would turn their guns on me and then I'd fight it off with them!! I just got tired of the zombies ruining my shootouts :l anyways! Love your work!

Is there a way that I can change the key config where you have to press " alt + * " to do a command coz im tired of using the trainer but because im on a laptop I dont have the numpad so I set the keys to ijkl instead and thats all the key shortcuts.

I have a problem when trying to play this mod, simply, nothing happens. I followed the troubleshooting tips, but the cause of my problem seems to be different somehow. Here's the error that appears on the console:


9 errors in script 'H:\...\Left4Libertyv5.1.vb':

in line 1648: 'bursttire' is not a member of 'GTA.Vehicle'.

in line 1648: 'vehiclewheel' is not declared. It may be unaccessible due to the level of protection.


And the same thing goes to lines 1652, 1656 and 1660...


in Line 2220: The variable 'fuel' is used before receiving a value. A null reference exception may occur in execution time.


And sorry about that, but cos my console - IDK why - is in another language (does it follow the OS language?), so I had to translate it... I hope it's not so different in "native" english...

Allright, I tried deleting the part of the script that was getting these erros and now it loads ok, but obviously I wanna see wht I'm missing haha.

Anyway, some little things I noticed when playing Zombie Night: First, is it normal to be all alone for around 10 minutes b4 anyone shows up? I mean, for around 10 mins it was just like I was playing a game version of that Timeline series, except for the fact that there was not even bodies on the street lol. Anyway, it's not even a problem, just saying I felt kinda alone hahaha. And lastly, after all those dead people showed up and started running after you like you're a tasty meat ice cream, as already stated by someone above, some of them just stands in the middle of the street and become like obstacles. Yea, they don't die, they don't move, and if you are feeling like Shumacher and try to run over him, you might get outta the car by the front window lol.

Anyway, superb work on this, 10/10 !!!

So these are probably some total n00b questions, but...

1) I have the Steam version of GTA IV on Win 7, so my main files folder is located at /Program Files(x86)/Steam/steamapps/common/Grand Theft Auto IV/GTAIV... Does this mean the scripts folder should be located at /Program Files(x86)/Steam/steamapps/common/Grand Theft Auto IV/GTAIV/scripts?

2) Will TrafficLoad, Simple Native Trainer, or LCPD First Response interfere with the proper loading of this mod?

Hi motorosport! i have always lvoed your mods! but i remember there was an infected mod that had police and noose running around killing infected. and sometimes random miliraty groups would come in and start shooting everyone including you. i tohught it was one of yours but i just tested them all and cant find it. any help?

fantastic mod if you update again you should add quarantine zones and road blocks maybe even more grass and destroyed cars populating the roads and I think somebody said this on the previous version but you should try making zombie skins for people 10/10

.ASI Loader


Place ASI loader into root file - /Rockstar Games/Grand Theft Auto Iv

Install .Net Script Hook as per Hazard X (Follow his installation Directions EXACTLY)

Install Scripthook (Included with .Net Script Hook)


Create a Scripts Folder in Your Grand Theft Auto IV Directory > Unrar The File > Place The:





Into Your Scripts Folder and There You Go...

Hey guys , I'm having a problem with mine. I did everything as explained and my gta opens and runs completely normally , but when i press play it's goes to the "Loading - Cousins Bellic" screen and then just freezes until I close it. Any help would be appreciated.

I just downloaded this mod and i think i install everything correctly but when i go to launch the game it loads the mission and right before i can play it stops working. Anyone knows why? or is there something i didn't install correctly?

For some reason whenever i get to or near at the gun shop in broker a.k.a the first gun shop you unlock it freezes then crashes altogether

and the frame rate stutters whenever I'm in a car moving. Please fix on future update overall rating 7

Am I right in thinking that only certain members of the police show up whilst this mod is active? The reason I ask this is because it seems my wanted level does not increase when this is active. I by no means fault this mod as I am really enjoying it. 10/10 from me. Maybe Rockstar who whomever should take note from the combo of GTA IV/V and zombie mods and maybe create a game similar to this as they did with RDR Undead Nightmare. Well done to you for the mod :)

Great mod 9/10

I have one issue though whenever I get close or near to the gunshop in broker it crashes don't know why.Please fix, other than that I'll be blowin' zombie brains.

hi there, great mod! but im having a problem:

whenever i activate the mod there are no explosions anymore after a few moments, grenades, molotovs & rpg dont work anymore, they just disappear in the ground/buildings. anyone has an idea?

Motor, you should add hunger and thirst bar in version 5.2 if it comes out, and add the ability to loot dead bodies of civilians, bandits, zombies, cops, SWAT, etc., so it can be more DayZ/WarZ-ish, anyways, great mod, 9/10.

The mod doesnt work... i listened to the instructions, i have all things required to play, and i have a script folder, which i put the stuff in. i press ~, and the console pops up, yet the mod wont work!

Krizu, to activate the game, arent you supposed to press F7?
