This mod basically tries to simulate Max Payne bullet time features with very cool animations by Boblester.

@Julio: Can you make it so that when you are firing on the floor you don't get up until you run out of bullets or let go of the trigger?

That's how bulletime diving always worked in MP.

@JulioNIB bugs & suggestions:

- The kill-cam is a great idea but it can be somewhat annoying. E.g. when there are multiple enemies. It will sometimes get activated after I kill the first enemy, making it easy for the remaining enemies to take me out.

- Mid-air aiming won't work if in-game mouse sensitivity is set to the lowest.

- The bullets won't always hit where aimed at.

Suggestions for a future update:

- Pain pills.

- Possible to cancel bullet-time mid-air.

- Possible to disable kill-cam, or somehow make it only activate if 1 enemy remains (sounds tricky).

I'm loving this mod. Awesome work!

i asked him a while ago and he said it was not possible.

Anther thing, the first thing i would say you guys should fix is the clunky camera after jumping, it should be soft and smooth transition to the normal third person view.

@JulioNIB: We like to play with xbox, ps3... controllers, because with, we can play quiet posed in a armchair (or bed, as already said/answered by Krlos_Rokr), instead of the head in the screen sitting on an office chair :)

(and personally i am unable to play with a keyboard and mouse)

Otherwise, i'm not interested (i do not like Max Payne) but congratulations for this new mod.

@BOSS 007 you can refill the gauge by killing people. Alternatively you can open 'MaxPayneStyle.ini' and change 'bInfiniteBulletTime=0' to 1.

To anyone complaining about the animations: can you do them better? Please go ahead and show us.

@cornflakes4u: thats true, is hard find people that know how to edit anims for IV, boblester did a great job in this mod (also in FMX), i really like the anims, game issues make it look weird in some cases and make us use tricks to look better (like attach player to object to avoid "legs" problem caused by game).

i will see if i can make the xbox control support, the actual code use custom camera + mouse movements to determine heading, when using controller things need to change and i need to create my own auto target lock because aim with contoller is a pain ^^

thanks cornflakes and julio for defending me. I am really trying my best, it's just.. some people are perfectionists and we can't avoid that. but i want them to remember that this is better than nothing. after all, this kind of mod will never be develop without me and julio working as a team :)

for the complainants, I'm now making a fix the animations. it's better than this one. the next update of this mod will be better.

funny, LetsPlayOrDy is totally comparing this mod to other mods which is actually different. our aim to develop is mod is actually the bullet dodge animations and other max payne features. yes that includes the slow mo since that's how max payne is supposed to be. while the other mods you are comparing is just a slow mo scripts and they called it bullet time. normally, you can see the big difference between the mods you mentioned. also, we never get ideas from the other modders, we've been planning this 1 week before the "max payne script" you are talking about is being released. and oh, people actually wished to have a custom animations especially bullet dodge animation for gta4 since i start publishing animation mods in community. well that's all.

I know this can be bad for him, but i should hold to mod just because he released his one? also his mod still a good choice for anyone that wants a simple bullet time mod, and based on what i saw in videos, his bullet time is better than mine because player seems to move easier.

my intention was not try to "override" his release or make people "migrate" to my mod, i released just because was done and people was asking a long time for that kind of mod

AR_Crisostomo: this would require set player walk style to always strafe like in max payne game and would require anims for each different jump direction (L/R/Fl/FR/BL/BR/B). we dont will do this now, maybe in future

huckleberrypie: unfortunately we dont have a good solution for this yet

For who asked about XBox control support, i tried something, for me that hates that control looks almost usable, take a look in download page for the version with this support

Bug found:

♠ When you activate shootdodge from a room to another(inside to outside, ins to ins)while in shootdodge the area you jump into will not load.

Suggestion for updates:

♠ When using a two-handed weapon. Please let it stay that way.(Using shotgun one-handed...LOL)

♠ The "jump in any direction" fix ( I will wait)

AR_Crisostomo, i think I'm the one who's responsible for using a shotgun as one-handed weapon.

ever think why we didn't push the version to 2.0 ? well, it's because of lacked features. I'm pretty sure this mod is going to be almost like from the game itself when we reach the version 2.0. :D

The animation and transition into the dive is much more natural looking now.

Is it possible to make an inventory mod like in MP3? GTA has always been ridiculous letting you carry around an entire military arsenal under your t-shirt. It would be amazing if you figured out a way to implement the MP3 inventory system.

Bullet time is too short, especially in the air, it can be extended? At least you can kill 5 people or more. Or directly infinite time. How to set it?

There's a mod like that actually. I think it's called Pickups 2.0. It also removes the glow from weapons.

Only problem is that it's only for IV, and there is no .ini to adjust what weapons are part of what group. Pretty sure it's by InfamousSabre.

Julio, do you think you would be able to get gun controls/movement similar to MP3/GTA V? Where if you fire with the gun (no aiming with right click) the player will be in a jogging state, and easily move the camera around in any direction? But when holding down the aim key (default; right-click) you'll have the normal aiming - close-up, slow movement, better accuracy etc.?

Hi ! It's really a good job but...

The gauge on my screen is too big, no .. it's huge, (according to my personal taste).

I like playing with minmalistes HUD. Or so I like to rearrange the various elements so that they fit well together.

I can not change or appearance of the gauge or size so I moved him out of the screen (or HUDSize_X HUDScale_X such does not exist).

I inspected the ini file and I see no options for me to change the gauge (even by changing the png gauge appears again).

Very good job in all cases!

Can I suggest here or elsewhere graph addon? A little touch of PNG and the value of X?
