WHAT IT DOES
Slowed Movement
This script decreases your speed on foot, depending on the weapons, ammo, and cash you're carrying.
(All speed penalties can be tweaked.)
Hurrying
Holding ALT gives you a 20% speed boost. Doing this while sprinting uses Adrenaline, shown as a white bar under the radar.
(This can be tweaked or disabled.)
Weapon Bag
Large amounts of cash and all weapons except the knife and pistols are stored in a bag, not in your magic pockets. No gameplay effect, only visual.
(This can be tweaked or disabled.)
Weapon Removal
Pressing * on the numpad drops the current weapon permanently. While unarmed, hold PageDown and press * to remove armor.
(This can be disabled.)

----------------

HOW TO INSTALL
This is a script for HazardX's .NET scripthook. Just place the files in the 'scripts' folder of the scripthook.

----------------

TIPS
— Tweak the settings in the INI file to suit your preferences.
— Drop weapons you don't need to avoid being slowed down too much.
— If you want to get rid of weapons without losing them permanently, try my Weapon Storage mod.
— Having 1% armor affects your speed the same as 100% armor. When your armor gets low, it might be a good idea to just remove it.
— To avoid being slowed down too much by your cash, use my Bank Account mod to store money at ATMs. Or set the cash speed penalty to 0.0.
— For realism, I recommend editing your WeaponInfo.xml file and decreasing the max ammo for every weapon to something realistic.
— Adrenaline recharges more slowly when you're moving fast.
— After the "MaxTotalPenalty" in the INI is reached, additional weight just makes the hurry button less effective, until hurrying has no effect.

KNOWN BUGS
— Unfortunately, you can't get weapons back after dropping them, due to script limitations. See here for an alternate version that I use, with (sometimes buggy) weapon drops that you can pick back up.
— Melee weapons disappear when dropped, instead of falling to the ground.

I was looking for something slightly similar to this. But I was looking more for something that made Niko run faster. Not super human fast. Not even really fast. But just a little faster than he already runs. Do you think you could make something like that? Preferably something that worked with a controller and something that allowed you to tweak the speed settings.

Does dis work wid eflc?

Posted on April 1, 2012 1:57AM by Xangr8
@Xangr8: I don't have EFLC, but I know that EFLC melee/thrown weapons won't slow you down. Other than that, I think it should work.

I tried the bag thing and its cool. It even shows up in the cut scenes! Now, after a while I kind of got annoyed carrying the bag all the time. I mean, I can only imagine when I buy my nice suit and still carrying the bag. I guess this is one of those moments when too much realism is not always aesthetically practical.

You say I can disable the bag option but when I change it to "false" in the ini I'm still carrying the bag. Btw, how do you get the brown bag that looks like backpack?
Posted on May 29, 2012 1:22PM by lorca
@lorca: Ah, the bag gets saved when the game is saved. Disabling the setting doesn't remove it next time you load, since that would mess up other mods that give you a bag/vest. So here's a quick fix: load the game with the script below, then save. Then you can get rid of the fix script.

As for the backpack, you get that if you only have light weapons (SMG, explosives) or $65,000–$500,000. Big weapons or $500,000+ gives you the duffel bag.

Thanks! Btw, even though I'm new to the GTA series I want to take this opportunity to thank you for your scripts. In my opinion, after browsing all of the mods on this site, I've noticed that you and @hippieCommunist are one of the best scripters in GTA4. I hope you're still here when GTA 5 arrives.

How do I get the bag!? I got the mod in the 'script' folder now, how do I activate it to get the bag to appear?!
Posted on September 27, 2012 10:30AM by Gangsti
By default, all weapons except pistols and the knife will give you a bag, and $65000 or more will also give you bag. There are settings for this at the bottom of the INI file.

I'm glad you asked, because I decided to quickly test the script — and found that cash didn't give a bag. This bug is now fixed in v1.2.6 hotfix 2, which I just uploaded.

hey man, ive got a problem here, i dont have a num pad in my laptop or a num block key, freaking dell, ho would i change that so i can pres other key to drop the weapons?
Posted on October 3, 2012 7:59PM by dekord41
In the INI file, you can set the keys to anything in this list:

http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/system.windows.forms.keys.aspx

So if you want to use the U key: "RemoveWeaponKey = U"

Posted on November 21, 2012 9:59AM by jstq
Can't you just get rid of all your weapons except the knife and pistol?
Posted on November 21, 2012 3:51PM by AngryAmoeba
You get my signature-quote: "Why can't Rockstar come up with this stuff¿!?"

can you make a video how to install it? pleas

Try searching YouTube for "GTA4 .NET script hook". Once you've installed the script hook, just put this mod into the "Scripts" folder (which is in your GTA4 installation folder).

I see it's been almost a year since the latest version of this mod. I still use it though, Niko's been carrying that duffel bag constantly. lol

How about a small anniversary-update perhaps? I have no idea how busy you are and you'd probably rather work on the ArrestWarrant-mod, which is fine by me. :) Not that it needs a fix or anything, but maybe one or two new features would be nice.

Cause I was just wondering about something for this mod; Isn't it possible, like the bag, to have the body-armor appear? I'm not sure if it's already in this mod. I do know that you have a feature that adds weight if you wear armor and you can also remove it completely. It would be cool if you'd have the armor appear visually if you have any armor technically, similarly to how you carry a bag if you have weapons.

Not sure about any other features right now though. But I've been requesting a lot on the ArrestWarrant-mod a lot anyway. Haha ;)

Keep up the good work!
Posted on October 25, 2013 3:10AM by Damage Inc.
Glad you've been enjoying the mod! Unless I'm in a firefight, I carry just a pistol and knife, so I don't have to carry the bag everywhere. Roleplaying!

I haven't had much time to work on my mods, and I haven't had any good ideas to add to this mod, but I'm always taking suggestions (and implementing the easy ones). Unfortunately, the visible armor idea doesn't work because it uses the same clothing slot as the bags. So you can't show armor and a bag at the same time.
Posted on October 28, 2013 6:37PM by AngryAmoeba
Hmm, how about still the option to have that, except then the choice between either of course. So that in the configuration-file you set which thing, the bag or the armor, to show.

Also wondering now; You have a feature in the ArrestWarrant-mod to have police see your weapons that you're not holding in case you use a mod that shows weapons hanging on your back and such things.

Is it possible to add that, the weapons actually showing on your person visually? Or would you have to start adding models and things like that? Or, maybe again, conflict with the bag?

I guess there already are mods to do that spefically though. But I'm not sure where to find them...
Posted on October 29, 2013 3:28PM by Damage Inc.
You could just disable the Weapon Weight bag and use lilmcnessy's Visible Armour mod: http://gtagarage.com/mods/show.php?id=8122

For showing weapons on your person, try this mod: http://gtagarage.com/mods/show.php?id=13570

Thanks. I'll check those out. :)

Hey AngryAmoebe. Quick question here;

I wanted to make notes of values in the config-file, so that it's clearer how much the totals are and such. For example, the total percentage of all weapons combined, or the total of the rounds times the amount of maximum rounds I've set in my weapons-files.

But where and how can I type without breaking the configuration-file?

Also, by the way, is it possible to add more ammunition-types in the "pentalties per round"-section? Like having the pistol-ammo and deagle-ammo separately to get a difference between them. Or does the game not make a distinction between ammo for them? - The same goes for the SMGs and the two sniper-rifles and so on of course. This would especially be nice if you have very different weapons between every two of the same category.

This works perfect but I had one issue with it. I use the Prison Mod and when I go to Prison, the bag stays on my back even though I don't have any weapons.

You should work on fixing it so when you have no weapons the bag goes away or at least stays on but the weight goes away.

Other then that, great mod man, I love it, 10/10.
