GTA IV Handling Batch Editor

by Amunium
Please explain why you're reporting this file:

Have you ever wanted to make all the cars just a little faster, turn better or brake harder? Usually that would require editing each car in the handling.dat. I got tired of that, so here's the solution. GTA IV HBE lets you change every car or every car of a specific type by a custom amount. For example, you can give all sports cars a 50% higher top speed in just a few seconds.

WARNING: This is not a beginner's tool, and you CAN mess up your handling.dat file. Always backup before playing around with it.

Requires .NET Framework 2.0 (and no, don't count on a newer version necessarily doing the trick)

This does not work at all. IT reports some error regarding handling file being corrupt. And no mods or changes have been applied to such a handling file.

I have built a software, because this fails to even open handling.dat file. It will come out in a while....awaiting approval.

This is not working for me. Max Velocity for police vehicles is 10, so I edit it to 100 and press confirm. Then I click away, then click Max Velocity and it reads it as 10 again. :(

Hey, I made this. I didn't play GTA IV for a long time, so I couldn't really check if the program still worked, so sorry about that. Recently I've reinstalled and tried again, and I can say that it does work with the latest version on Steam, which should be

@Registereduser: You probably won't see this, as you posted a while ago, but in case anyone else has the same problem: The text field isn't supposed to show the current value - that would be impossible, as it changes it for many vehicles with different values. It simply shows the amount you want to add to the current values, so it's supposed to reset to 10. Just click confirm and save, and the changes should be in the file.

I have used this to try to edit "damage" modifiers but to no avail. Damages tend to be roughly 1.0 +/- 0.5. I set it to "200%", but when I check the file most are at 0.15 or lower. I am using an original handling.dat file. Dunno what to say =(
