If you don't want to modify your original IMG files, like vehicles.img or weapons.img, then with this mod you will only need to modify one img that is used to override all of the other. If you add a new mod in this case the sultan. The game will use the sultan files in the overrd.img instead of using the original ones, because it's loaded before the vehicles.img and all of the others. Of course if you remove the sultan mod it will use the original one.

what does it mean, you mean by it we do not change the img files we want to Edit, so we edit them on new files on other locations?

Maybe it can be a good idea for an increased GTA IV speed(FPS) with modded files?(Based on how many cars, lowers your fps from about 15-5 FPS on A Dual Core Low End Processor, Higher processors Like Core i3 and Up take less Pressure and save more FPS)

There are people that play Online with older patches (1.0.4.0) which Xliveless is optional so their live account wont be disabled, just they must have EXCACTLY the same files(mods), even modding unlockers.

There are newer Multiplayer Scripts, Like IV:MP, GTAIV Multiplayer Mod 0.1 T3 for 1.7.0.0 :

http://www.gta4-mods.com/misc/ivmp-gtaiv-multiplayer-mod-01-t3-f9007

Im not aware if they work with xliveless.

However good mod, i'll try it out.

You don't need to make any backups of your other img files, you only need to modify the included img file. You can save some space with this, because if you make a backup any of the imgs it will cost more free space on your hard drive.

But it can help most in this situation:

If you aren't using this, and you installed a mod that has some mayor or minor bugs, you will have to open the original img, extract, close, open the modded img, import, save and close.

But if you have this mod, and installed that car mod, you just need to delete the file from the img file and then you're done, and if you restore the GTA Override, you can easily use the original cars without renaming anything.

Patching only changes the common/data/gta.dat file, but it will make a backup of it, and patching or depatching will take just a second.

Seriously!?

So, does IV then load the original IMG + the override IMG + all contents of both or

does IV load "parts" of the original IMG + Additional override.img files?

How are you achieving this? Is there a .Net or .ASI file the program uses?

The program don't have any hooks in it. It only patches your common/data/gta.dat by adding an img load before it loads all of the game's original imgs.

If you put a car mod in the overrd.img, it will load the car mod, and when it comes to load the original car from the original file, it won't load because the vehicle is loaded before, so the modded car will appear in the game instead of the original.

If you remove the car mod, it will check if the mod exist in the img, if not it won't load and the original car will be loaded in this case.

this is pretty slick. too bad you still have to change the handling.dat file to get the full mod experience... This is nice for just changing the model though. 10 stars
