NICE! 10/10 This should be done with the NYPD or the LAPD as well!

Interior for the 1994 is wrong.
Posted on October 14, 2013 11:43AM by rastakilla
It's not. Seperated seats and Police Pursuit warning. That's all.

Others: Thank you!

Ha, is this a response to the message I left on your Taxi? ;) No idea if you saw it though.

But I have to admit, I'm currently modifying the skin of the '87 its Liberty City livery. It's not as good as the Chicago-version, so I altered and "corrected" some things on it. I also took one or two creative liberties to make it more "Liberty City" since that's what I like, instead of it being a strange appearance by Chicago Police in Liberty City. :D

Anyway, that's just for personal use and haven't uploaded anything of course. But, if you would like to see it (or maybe even give some tips, since I'm having some issues), let me know and I could send it or upload it or whatever.

Good work on these cars though. :)

The models are optimized for the Chicago Police units. Changing the livery could cause serious damage to the appearance. But that would mainly be in cases where the livery colour gets changed. Changing Chicago to Liberty would have no affection and you're free to edit so!

OK. The changes aren't that major, really. I've only replaced and moved some of the text, and also changed some logos for example.

But I did run into a visual issue, which I do not know if was already there in the original model. Which would be, that now I see the skin show through the insides of the doors (although partially). So, I see the white and the letters (mirrored) on the inside. Do you know why this happened?

What I did was take the .PNG with SparkIV, alter it in Photoshop, and the Import it, Save, and Rebuild again. It does show up on the model just fine, but I do see it show through the insides of the doors.

The weird thing is, when I put the original .PNG back, it's the same situation. Again, not sure if this was the case with the untouched file/model. I would have to re-import the whole model again to check, but I'd have to backup the handling, cause I changed some things there.

That could be my fault because, as I stated, the textures are optimized for these liveries. :)

OMG Thank you for releasing!!!

You mean the MODELS are optimized for the liveries? Or the textures for these models? I guess...

Well... What would happen if I would take the livery of the Chicago-version (shown here), and alter THAT (to my Liberty-version) instead? Would that make the insides show correctly?

I must say, I don't know if it's even the same model? Because mine has different wheels, and other different details as well. Not sure if that's just a case of different textures as well... But I do know that it's yours, from long ago.

You know what, I think I might just end up replacing the one I have with the Chicago-one here, because it seems to look better. It's like the other one didn't turn out so well, it's not as neat it seems.

I don't know if links work here, but here's the one I have: (It's a picture of a YouTube-thumbnail.)

Doesn't Chicago use police suv's and pickups too? Still, this is a amazing pack

Well, I've had a try at the Ford, and just by opening the texture-file it's clear that it's a higher quality work than the earlier/other version that I was talking about. That one seems like it's in Alpha-state compared to this one. It was OK, but now I see why it had flaws, why it's not on this site anymore, and also why the version in this pack exists. lol

Anyway, I only just found that these vehicles use the ELS-mod... There's nothing I can do about this is there? -_- I barely see the cops coming when they're racing towards me. Kind of dissapointed now.

Oh, you mean one of my first mods! The first Ford LTD Chicago Police I made. Yeah, I removed that mod and this is the rework of it, made by a total different author.

Cars looks awesome it would be 10/10 but it's 9/10 because any ELS crashes my game after 5 minutes

Nice work! Was that Aspen originally made by malemute?
Posted on October 15, 2013 4:00PM by parkavenue
Oh, I understand.

But I have an idea: How about, on just the Ford, we trade and collaborate; If it's not too much work, you create a version of it with the regular lighting, and I provide the 4 original liveries reworked into 'Liberty City'-versions for you to publish with it.

Heck, you could even use them for the ELS-version in case people want an LC-version of the same car, I don't mind. This way we'd also cover 4 different cars basically. What do you say? :)

Good job, Compeast. One thing bugs me is that from the description and from the image, you labelled the 1993 model as 1994 model. This confused some of the people thinking the interior was incorrect.
Posted on October 19, 2013 2:27AM by carface80
That's because I edited it to a 1994 Caprice! An ex NYPD cop who is a member on GTA Modding Chst helped me do that! He helped me make it an accurate 94 Caprice since he drove one every now and then.

No deal Compeast? :( (See my previous comment.) Would be cool... I'm about done with the liveries, they look pretty nice even if I say so myself.
Posted on October 20, 2013 12:38PM by Damage Inc.
Oh, now I see, sorry. No, not interested!
Posted on October 21, 2013 11:45AM by Compeast
Okay, too bad... Well, I gave ELS a try anyway, seems to work OK now. I used to have technical issues with it, but if it works, I can use these ELS-models now...

Oh, one weird thng I noticed though; Even though it has all blue lights on the roof, it shines red light on the environment. Can I do something about this?

Also, would you mind if I'd upload my skins (without the model) as complementary liveries for other people to use? I wonder if they're any good...
Posted on October 21, 2013 2:19PM by Damage Inc.
You can change the colour of the flashing in the environment in the ELS.ini. Sure, go ahead!
Posted on October 25, 2013 9:57AM by Compeast
Cool, thanks. I will pobably upload something within a day.
Posted on October 27, 2013 5:46AM by Damage Inc.
OK, so for the users of the 1987 Ford LTD Crown Victoria who prefer a "Liberty City"-version, please check out my new liveries:

It turned out pretty nicely, even if I say so myself, otherwise I wouldn't have uploaded it.

Anyone who checks it out, thanks. And thanks again, Compeast, for the cool cars.
