Saab JAS 39 Gripen (VTOL) Guns & Rockets Beta

Tested in GTA IV patch 1.0.4.0 must work in all patchs and EFLC

Features:

1.- Vertical Take Off and Landing
2.- Working Guns
3.- Working Rockets
4.- Jet Engine Sound

Note:
The VTOL GRIPEN is on stage of development

Rockets mod for GTA IV patch 1.0.7. by metalwars
Player Model MW2 Soap by ac.amir

Before Install:

1.- You must use Spark IV Tool, Download from
http://www.gta4-mods.com/tools/sparkiv-065-for-gta-iv-1010---1060-f4774
2.- Install it

3.-You should use Simple Native Trainer 6.0 (or upper) Download from http://www.gtagarage.com mods/show.php?id=5646
4.-Install it.

Install the GRIPEN

1.- Backup originals files
2.- Select your option
3.- Open SparkIV and replace annihilator.wtd and annihilator.wft to C: ... Grand Theft Auto IV/pc/models/cdimages/vehicles.img
4.- Save and rebuild

Note: Also You can replace the TBOGT buzzard (after: you must find a buzzard sound file to replace it with the Jet Engine Sound)

Save and Exit

Install the Rockets

1.- If you have GTA IV patch 1.0.4.0.( or other, but not 1.0.7.0) place all files from the Annihilator with Rockets Folder in your GTA IV directory
2.- If you have GTA IV patch 1.0.7.0, edit with WordPad or another tool the C: ... Grand Theft Auto IV/pc/models/cdimages/Weaponinfo.XML
2.1.- Find Minigun, and replace by the lines provided in the Annihilator Rockets for patch 1.0.7 folder

Install the Jet Engine Sound

1.- Backup originals files
2.- Import HELICOPTER.ivaud from Jet Engine Sound foder to Grand Theft Auto IV/pc/audio/sfx/resident.rpf using SparkIV
3.- Save it
Note: If You replaced the TBOGT buzzard (you must find a buzzard sound file to replace it with the Jet Engine Sound)

How to use:

1.- Run GTA IV or EFLC
2.- Open the Simple Native Trainer
3.- Select Car Spawning, Select ANNIHILATOR or Buzzard, Press Mum Pad 5 (to spawn the GRIPEN)
If a black color Gripen was espaned, press R-Ctrl + NumPad 8 to set the Original Color
4.- Use Helicopters control Keys to fly the Gripen
5.- To fire the Rockets press Right Mouse Button or the key you assigned in the .ini file
6.- To fire the guns: press space or Left Mouse Button
7.- (Important:) Before get out from the Gripen: Open the Simple Native Trainer, go to Car Options, select turn engine off,
now you can jump out safety

Ready for play. HAVE FUN! :D

i've traced the crashes back to the model theres something about it not sure if anyone else has it but my game crashes i tried replacing the buzzard same crash i tried both the gear up and down wfts same crash

i use eflc and i used openiv i also tried without the rocket mod

i tried replacing both the annihilator and the buzzard replacing the annihilator back to the first gripen model fixed it so it's the model itself crashing the game for some reason

@Fulcrum: This should work replacing the swift, but without rockets and no guns. The guns and rocket only work in annihilator ( the buzzard have guns and rockets)

@CORE: good idea, but the script cannot support in my patch 1.0.7.

if you wanna to set annihilator throw the rocket, you can edit Weaponinfo.XML. here is:

find Minigun, and replace my formula.

@Ace_Topspeed: Thanks mate, use the simple native trainer to spawn the annihilator, the player will appear in the plane. We are working to make the player can enter after it get out from the plane. This will fixed in the new versions. Until we release a new version you can enjoy this one ;)

1.-Keep or set your last or original vehicles.ide and Hanling. dat lines.

2.- We need to be carefull To edit the Weaponinfo.XML, any wrong character can make crash the game. If you did change your Weaponinfo.XML try reset to your last or original weaponinfo.xml

3.- Use the Helicopters Fly Keys to control the GRIPEN (VTOL)

@XXXRainKiller27: At first we present a few lines for vehicles, ide and hanling.dat that work well for GTA IV 1.0.4.0 patch. Even with them: to fly with the VTOL capability, need to enable the controls as a helicopter. Had not a great difference in speed and performance with respect to the lines of vehicles.ide and hanling.dat originals from GTA IV and EFLC. Finally these proposed handlin.dat vehicles.ide lines seems to conflict in GTA IV patch 1.0.7.0, therefore decided to remove them and allow players to use the lines that everyone would be using. But we can updated this mod adding the hanling lines only for GTA IV patch 1.0.4.0, they can be used as a reference to set, a bit better lines for patch 1.0.7.0 ;)

I would love to use this but it crashes as soon as I spawn it. Do you know why? I installed it properly. I spawn it using SNT 6.4, does it require 6.1 to spawn? Thanks!

2.- At first no make changes in the weaponinfo, install all the mod first, then when: you can spawn the GRIPEN and fly it. You can try to change the weaponinfo file. @GTAforever35: This mod was updated 2 times, in the actual version you do not need to copy paste lines from the readme.txt file. Please download one more time and do the install procedure keeping your originals vehicles.ide hanling.dat and weaponinfo without modifications. do not make the (Install the Rockets) step 1 because this is for patch 1.0.4.0,Do not make the (Install the Rockets) step 2, we need to wait until we check you can spawn the gripen and fly it, then you can try to set the Rockets replacing the provided lines in the weaponinfo

@GTAforever35: This issue can be a memory administration case. please go to GTA IV graphics and: set less resolution. If you have several mods working at the same time, you can unset any mods that you do not need. Try to replace the model using OpenIV and rebuild, I will find the original GTA IV Vehicles ide, Hanling.dat lines for the Annihilator to post here (please use this). Try to use the SN trainer 5.2 to 5.6 because they use less memory

When I installed this mod my game doesn't start up if I have the g4mhook.dll in gta iv directory. when I take it of the game works fine but if I spawn the annihilator the game shuts down. What I have to do? I have EFLC 1.0.2.0.

Uhmmmm .... i keep getting crash every time i spawn it , i use the default handling.dat , and i'm sure i'm not out of memory for spawning it .

i'm sure there is and issue with the model .

what should i do with the annihilator.bak ???

@rezastallone: I dowload the Gripen VTOL MOD files and replace the annihilator files and it works fine

Please replace the files annihilator.wtd and annihilator.wft using Open IV (not Spark) and rebuild vehicle.img

you do not need to use the annihilator.bak (it is only a backup file)

At firt try without install the Rockets mod, if work Install it:

1.- If you have GTA IV patch 1.0.4.0.( or other, but not 1.0.7.0) place all files from the Annihilator with Rockets Folder in your GTA IV directory

Okay. Sorry for the long reply. I've had the original .ide and .dat lines but still crash. Only when I spawn it. I go to the Car Spawning menu in the SNT and go to the Annihilator text, click it, it freezes and crashes.

Playing gta4 with patch 1.0.4.0. and I figured I could just extrapolate the audio file to use with the Harrier jet I already replaced. No trainer yet, don't know much about it. So i'm sticking with the Harrier for now. Anyway, only got scratchy static noise, no jet effect. Did I miss something, it seems the instructions are straight forward. Does it not work without Trainer?

Hello,

I wish to add a flying car. I wanted to use an Audi RSQ and replace the buzzard. But it gives heli motor sound to the RSQ. Do you think I can replace this sound with the sound of your mode to give my car a more credible sound ? On GTA San Andreas I reverse the heli/audi line with an airplane line in a .txt file, and it reverses the sound. But i can't do this on GTA IV because there's no plane.

What do you think about it ? If it's work, the result should be an Audi RSQ which fly like an helicopter and shoots rockets, with a reactor sound. Could be cool no ?
