My first helicopter convert and my first attempt on a helicopter ever :)
Had to disable rear rotor movement, because it was spinning like crazy and rotors aren't using any nodes. If you have a solution to this, write it in the comments please :)

Seems like this is a problem with my game, but when I'm adding a new handling line, game is freezing. If you have the same issue, check the 'If its crashing.txt'

If you want to enjoy this car in multiplayer, I recommend adding it to not mess up others experience by crashing them with a replaced car. Car has no extras, so go on and replace anything.

I'll be away for 2-3 weeks. But for all the great feedback I got through my modding time I'll start working on the Gresley for you guys, so you can enjoy it's appearance in GTA IV and the Episodes without waiting :)

hey man, i started this some time ago, i was gonna slide rear doors just like on RobertBlox's minivan. They not gonna look as good opened, probably, but it will be able to fly with rear doors closed. Ic file is opened, so i'll try to do it, if you don't mind.

Go on. But if you release include me for converting :)

Anyways, I'm curious how to do these slide rear doors. Is it possible without any scripts? If so, leave the model open so I can check out how it's built :) (Ofcourse only if its possible without that EPM or however this stuff is called, otherwise I don't have interest in gaining experience about it)

Ohh i don't know how RobertBlox did exactly his door. I was gonna offset axis, maybe even way out far from model, if it's not gonna screw up physics somehow and change rotation and angle width in axis properties. And add lights like Skyline did. They work just like on cars.

@tall70: it's not very hard, I did for one of my unreleased Black Hawks. Just set the axis VERY far away and set thw opening angle to something like 2 or 3 degrees max, tgat way it will look good. (I also think I did it for my latest Huey I have released, not sure tho)

Could anyone give me a hint about that rear rotor so I can make it dynamic again? It's not staying in place, instead of that it's just spinning around the chopper. Rotors don't have any nodes and the main rotor is spinning like it should.

Hint: It sounds like a local axis problem...

Check the following steps:

Detach/attach every blade so you got one object for what should spin (if it isn't already only one object). For the dummy and object you should check back how the LOCAL AXIS are aligned on the stock maverick (The LOCAL y axis should point in the same direction as the GLOBAL x axis viewed from front view - if I remember correctly). Also you should reset the DUMMYS local axis to the CENTERED OBJECT local axis. Both should point the same x/y/z directions.

@tall70 It had a second row of seats, but I removed it due to the GTA 4 rear chopper sitting :)

It is poasible to change the animation of the helicopter so the people in the rear will sit normally. It should be in the vehicles.ide... however, I do think that the pilot will have a driving animation in that case (not sure)

i have door working, and lights, but i take more time with adjustments.

^ i've used somebody's 4door helicopter for tourmav and they were sitting correctly. They were even opening doors normally but only on exit. When entering they just slid in without opening doors.

I have it all done, including rear rotor, but having some new issues with parts i didn't alter. Now shooting windshield crashes game although rear sliding doors i worked on are braking glass just fine. Pfffff, i already tried regular stuff "center to the world" and "calculate normals" for glass COL, but problem remains so far. I know bullet wholes and glass cracks are working in respect to L1 which not supposed to be really same size as L0, but that hsn't been problem in any other models i had hands on before. Maybe main chassis COL is the cause we'll see.
