[OLD]Battlefield 3 Weapon Sound Mod

by falcont2t
Please explain why you're reporting this file:

Battlefield 3 weapon Sound pack was a real hard work to do, you know, frostbite 2.0 uses dynamic
sound enviroment interaction, and gta iv is a simple sound puller system.
So in some cases i had to replace almost all the sound with different portions of the entire gun sound.
Those were taken and aislated from a youtube video

used audacity and sony vegas to make and improve the sounds to each weapon.
i had to make a new weaponinfo.xml to fit the sounds and weapon stats of the battlefield 3 weapons

And extraofficialy, i made a custom weapon pack (WEAPONS.IMG) with weapons you can find
in the game

you can download it here: http://www.mediafire.com/?1415mnttehg5lt4

credits to:

1.- Use SparkIV or OpenIV to access resident.rpf file located in grand theft auto iv/pc/audio/sfx/resident.rpf

And replace Weapons.ivaud and explosions.ivaud.

2.- Replace Weaponsinfo.xml in grand theft auto iv/commom/data/

OPtional - Weapon Pack Extraofficial

3.- Replace anims.img in grand theft auto iv/pc/anim

4.- Replace Weapons.img in grand theft auto iv/pc/models/cdimages
Replaces: weapons.ivaud explosions.ivaud weaponsinfo.xml optional= anims.img weapons.img

I cannot wait to try this out. I have the bad company 2 sound mod. But BF3 sounds are better imo.

Looks promising. Waiting for the video. I stopped playing BF3 a month ago because of all the nerfing in the 21-06-2011 patch.

Pathetic dev's and their nerfing. Sounds are awesome from BF3 though. Have you considered BC2 sounds at some point? The BC2 sounds were unparalleled in their quality (so I hear - no pun intended).

It's very good, but I think the AK-47 and the Desert Eagle sounds are better in the "real recorded guns sounds mod" but I think i will mix and match a bit. Still, it's a * good mod so, 10/10

Falcon2t, the video sounds great and I cannot wait to try this out, however SparkIV doesn't work on my machine so I can't import the modified weapons.ivaud to my resident.rpf file. I do have OpenIV, but that program can't modify audio files at the moment.

I would be very grateful if you (or anybody for that matter) temporarily uploaded this somewhere in resident.rpf format instead so I could easily install it.

Impressive job. It looks like ak47 tail can use better fadeout and thats maybe causing weird noise in background for some guns. Since if i remember correctly more weapons are sharing this sound. So it maybe gonna be quick fix. I don't have time right now, if some of you have goldwave already installed it'll be matter of few minutes importing and exporting the correct format.

That are great sound but only the sound of the colt is from bf3. (btw. it´s the sound of the m4 in bf3)
Posted on January 11, 2012 11:04AM by bugmenot
im making a new version :)
Posted on January 11, 2012 11:16AM by falcont2t
fixed m4 and ak47, replaced the shotgun sound too, what more?
Posted on January 11, 2012 12:48PM by falcont2t
Everything seems great! However, i you could increase the volume a tiny bit, then I think it's close to perfect.

I wish you had taken the sound files DIRECTLY from the Battlefield 3 directory, but unfortunately the files are stored in a .CAS file format which have no programs to extract the content yet... :(
Posted on January 11, 2012 1:33PM by Gnomefather
exactly, its pretty * hard to do it...i am not a coder myself so i cant start working on something like that, anyway, made a fix for it, maybe you could try it.

Also, cant put the volume up, i made it at the maximum i could without losing quality, so i don't think that's possible for now, maybe if we wait a little...

@falcont2t What about recording the BF3 weaponsounds by yourself with cording programs.SO you will have .mp3 files and the real bf 3 weaponsounds?
Posted on January 12, 2012 7:52AM by bugmenot
i have been trying something like that, but sounds make too much ambience nosie so i dont know how to...
Posted on January 12, 2012 8:05AM by falcont2t
This should fit my BF3 weapon mod for IV lol T_T

Still in progress, though. Has hand error bugs

Any chance for TBOGT / TLAD weapon sounds?
Posted on January 16, 2012 8:19PM by DLer
@falcont21 can you please upload your resident.rpf file with weapon sound and car sound because my openIV does allow me to open it.

I like this mod a lot, it seems that the gun that looks like the AS Val that replaced the micro uzi is slanted far to the right when your character holds it. How should i fix that?
